Hey guys I got another call from EB and offered me a spot for the SF cohort. Apparently they're trying to fill the class before it starts next week. I was #21ish on the wait list so I guess a lot of people opted to go somewhere else? Anyway, I talked with her today and notified her that I won't be attending either campus so a spot should open up at San Mateo and SF. Good luck to everyone!!!
@ Sharsharkang,
Did you take your TEAS 2X? Maybe take extra classes or re-take a science class?
I was really worried about not getting on the waitlist too...so I did some research for ASBN programs besides SM as a backup plan. There are none that I could find in NorCal but there are a few in SoCal. Some of these schools don't consider TEAS scores either. They range from 12-15 month programs. Navada State College has a 12 month program and the cost is like 10-15k compared to 55k. Don't lose hope....
@roxy4140,Did you get accepted into the San Mateo class? I'm number 7 on the waitlist so just trying to see what my chances are. Thanks for the heads up and sharing your experience.
@tubi408,
I think on the page 28, roxy4140 said she is accepted into the san mateo class, but decided go for sac camupus :)
I think ur chance of getting in is pretty high. Good Luck!!
@bandaid716,were you on the waitlist the first time you applied? im on the waitlist right now and am wondering about my chances about getting in for the summer or fall since I also applied to both. thx!
The first time I applied to SMU, I got waitlisted into the ELMSN program and at that point, I still had some classes in progress. They told me that they tally up everyone's points for a total score -- if you have all your classes finished by the time they review your application, you get extra points :) This time around, when I applied to the ABSN, all my classes were finished so that might have added a few points here and there.
Back in the days, when they had the paper application, we could apply to all the sites that were available for that cycle so that increases our chances of getting in. However, with the new CAS system, they said that we can only apply to one of the sites only. If you go on the waitlist, it is for that site only. However, when speaking to EB, she explained to me that ONLY the summer cycle works a bit differently -- this is the cycle when you apply to either San Mateo, SF, or Oakland. Everyone goes on this MEGA waitlist (rather than on the waitlist for that particular site you applied to) and when there is a seat open in any of the sites, you have the option to go there instead. So, people get shuffled around more which makes the waitlist moves faster that way and as a result, I think your chances of getting in (if you are on the waitlist) becomes slightly greater for summer cycle :)
