Samuel Merritt ABSN Sacramento Spring 2010

Published

What's up people? So I've been searching for some threads pertaining to this program in leu of going crazy after submitting my application. So I figured I would start a post so that us SacTown applicants can chat... Anyone know how long before SM sends their letters?

Hi mattman28,

Glad to hear from you. I also applied to the Sacramento ABSN program. I submitted my application in June, and I just found out that my application was entered into their system. I think they are still actually opening the applications........so I believe it is going to be awhile before we hear anything from them. While I am waiting to hear from Samuel Merritt, I am busy finishing up my patho class, and I am enrolled in a pharm class for this Fall. I am trying to stay busy, which is not all that difficult with three kids at home.

Take good care, and good luck!

I just started looking into this program. I hoping Fall 2010. I'm currently station in AZ. My hometown is Sac Baby!!!!!!!! I miss home so much. I want to go to school there, than go to Travis. When i called there they act all clueless. I'm going to work on this. How is the Program there? This is my 2nd BS, i had to take some preq's. But, i'm done!!!

Good luck to everyone applying for Spring at the Sacramento campus! I'm really glad to have found this posting :) I myself will be applying for Fall 2010. I recently found out about Samuel Merritts Sacramento campus, but I was kind of shocked to see that they do not have the regular BSN program here...cheers

Anyone else out there waiting to hear from Samuel Merritt about admission into the Sacramento ABSN '10 cohort? It would be great to hear from you. I seem to check this site daily hoping to hear from others who are in the same boat. It sounds like the applicants to the FNP program in Sacramento are already receiving calls for interviews. How exciting! What are you all doing to help pass the time until we hear something?

Hey Passki-

Sounds like you and I are in the same boat except for that I just finished up pharma and am beginning patho next week. I also have three young children at home that are keeping me busy. How old are your kids? I have three girls age 6, 4 and 11 months old. I can't wait to hear back from this school and I check the website all the time to see anything new. I applied for the ELMSN program as well and am waiting to hear about that program also. Good luck and hopefully we'll hear something soon.

Hi 2bgr8nurse,

Glad to hear from you! I have three daughters, as well. They are 9, 7, and 4. They are at really fun ages now, and we have had a great summer with many new firsts.....water skiing, Yosemite, musical theater, etc. In addition to taking my last prereq, I also work part time as a psychologist, so I am staying busy while I am waiting to hear back from Samuel Merritt. I do hope we will hear something soon!!!!Good luck, and let me know if you hear anything.

and that's supposed to say in lieu, not leu... Oh the anticipation is killer.

I was just on Samuel Merritt's web page but I wanted to make sure that I had read this correct - the ELMSN program is 3 and a half years long (10 semesters including summers) Also, I heard that the NP program for BSN graduates is a year - is this true? Thanks! :wink2:

Hi I just found this site and love it!!! I just received a call for an interview in the begining of Sept. At first I was really excited, but after reading some of the other posts I noticed most people had their interviews in the begining of Aug. That made me feel like I was not a strong canidate and maybe was given an interview offer based on the fact they did not find what they are looking for. I am not complaining but just want to see if anyone is in the same boat or their thoughts on this. Thanks

So to try and answer some questions, as far as I know the ELMS program for NP is open to anyone that has a bachelors degree in another field, and I believe the program is 18 months long... And nursing mommi, did you get an interview for the absn program or for the elms? I had a couple friends who interviewed for the latter at the beginning of the month, and am curious as to whether the process is part of the absn as well... Anyone know?

Hi everyone,

Nursingmomma, you wrote that you had recieved a call from Samuel Merritt for an interview? Oh no, now I'm super worried. I havn't recieved a call at all. Did you apply to the ABSN in Sacramento?
