Hi everyone! Just wanted to get the conversation started for those who applied for the ABSN Fall 2019 cohort. I applied for the Sacramento location but would love to connect with all who applied in general! Good luck everyone!

Does anyone know when were supposed to hear back for Spring 2020? I'm on the waitlist for Fall 2019 but want to know what January looks like!

Last two times notifications came in Oct. few in the first week. Most in the third week.

Last year I got notified the 5th,

year prior notified on the 25th.

That's so nice of you! The main thing that I'm wondering about is the schedule. What do your days look like? Is it just classes at first?

Yes. I would say that you are on campus the most the first couple of classes because you also have to come back for labs. After that you will have 1 or 2 days on campus and 2 days at clinical.

Hi Victoria,

thanks! Since the program is accelerated, do you have any free time? I’ve heard some people say they study literally all day and no free time at all while one say they have weekends available.

is there anything you’d recommend that we do while we’re waiting for semester to start? My cousin who attended previously said to just enjoy the free time now and travel. But I’m nervous and don’t want to get blind sided by being unprepared when I start school.

what are some hurdles that you found hard to get over during your start of school?

Hello

i submitted the health insurance waiver and ik it was approved but my portal has not updated yet. Has everyones updated or does it still say "not complete" like mine? thanks

Hi. That happen to me too. I reached out to the health admin and they said their system takes a while to update and not to worry. Sure enough a couple week later it changed to “complete”. So don’t worry, as long as you received the email confirmation from them that they approved your health insurance waiver.

hey guys!

I see that registration for classes for the Nov cohort start sept 30. I wont be done with my immunizations yet by then. Does anyone know if this will affect registration? (i.e will there be class registration hold if we have not completed immunization and have documents verified?)

I’ve been a “silent reader” of all your post for some time now and they’ve been very encouraging to me. I finally got in and I’m so excited!! I got accepted into the San Mateo cohort beginning Sp. 2020 (I just found out this morning)!! I know how hard it is to be patient and persistent while trying to get into SMU (as this is was my 3rd application this year and my 5th total...I applied twice before going to grad school). So best wishes to everyone who has applied and are currently waiting. Can’t wait to meet some of you in January.
