I interview at Samford 8/28 also. I was really hoping someone would answer your question so I could get some tips too. When you read through all of the posts here about Samford interviews it gets a little confusing. Some people say there are a lot of clinical questions and some say there aren't any. I guess we'll find out Thursday. Are you as nervous as I am? The closer the day gets, the more nauseated I feel. I just hope I don't get in there and barf everywhere!
Hi, NMB IVP. Thanks for the PM. Apparently I don't have the ability to respond to a PM...maybe because I haven't posted that much. Anyway, your reply definitely calmed a few of the butterflies I'm experiencing.
Can you or any of your fellow Samford classmates tell me what Samford is quoting as the total cost of their program/books/etc? I thought I knew, but someone I spoke with recently quoted a $ amount that was a good bit lower than I had anticipated. Thanks!
Tuition and Fees comes out to about 7350 per semester over 7 semesters. That's about $51,500. Books for first semester will break your heart, but you really don't have to buy but a few after that. My first semester, I spend $1,230 on books. But you will use every single one of them. I think that it would be safe to say $2,000. That may be slightly over estimating, but I would rather over-estimate than under-estimate. The program is well worth the money though. One positive that I look at is that printing doesn't cost any extra.
I am currently a student at Samford and interviewed last year. One interviewer asked me quite a few clinical questions last year. His questions were based on what kind of nursing you performed prior to the interview. For example, I was a cardiac nurse and he asked me cardiac related questions. So, don't worry too much about it, but do not freak out if they do ask a couple of questions. If you do not know the answer, just say you do not know. The worst thing you can do is attempt to pretend you know what you are talking about.

Thanks so much for your reply!
Can you remember a specific example of the clinical questions you were asked? Are they basic or really in depth?
