The deadline is approaching! I noticed there wasn't a thread for this so I thought I'd start one. Is anyone else out there applying to Salisbury for the Accelerated BSN program?
thanks, me too! any tips of housing, where to live, etc?? and does anyone know what the class schedule is like for the program? i have a dog and im worried i wont be able to find a place i can have him or that i wont have enough time between classes/clinicals to take care of him. my parents are trying to convince me to leave him with them but i dont want to do that!
Congratulations cbrubaker!! You can see the class schedule for each semester if you click on the Second Degree Curriculum Guide link on the 2nd degree B.S. in nursing page on the web site here SU [Nursing]. The link to the curriculum guide is at the top right in the box where it has the deadline for application submission.
Also, when I was single and worked full time and had a dog, I hired a dog walker to come in once a day to take my dog out. You might want to look into that.
Lastly, I have a question about the online Patho class. If it's the only thing I take beginning in May, what's the least amount of time you think I'd need to complete it? I'm so bummed because it looks like SU isn't offering it this summer. So, I need to go the online route which is fine I guess.
Congrats to all of you! Hopefully, LotusBean and I will get to join you. I'm remaining somewhat hopeful!
No! LotusBean, i didn't get waitlisted at first! However you have to send them a response by Mar 15 so i'm guessing that they'd start calling on people waitlisted once they determine those that declined admission(I'm not too sure though just guessing!) and i have the same question about the online Patho class too. I just realized that they are not offering it for summer at Salisbury!
No I was not waitlisted first. Thanks for the info coherrman! I'm taking the online patho class now through University of Northern Colorado (Extended Studies)...I posted about it before. I find it a little more difficult just because you don't have a teacher guiding you as to WHAT you need to know and there is so much information, but its basically just 23 tests (that are more like quizzes, one for each chapter) that get averaged together to give you your grade. In 3 weeks I have done 4 tests, I'm basically just reading each chapter and reviewing a little with online resources and then taking the test. I'm working full-time right now so I am not dedicating that much time to it, maybe 6 hours a week? It is self-paced so its up to you how long it takes, but if it is the only thing you are doing you should be able to finish it in a few months.
This was the cheapest option I found by the way, a bit more than $600 plus text book. Our acceptance letter listed two other universities you could take it through, I will post them when I go home and have the letter, but I e-mailed them and they approved the course I'm taking through UNC. There are good study resources on Quizlet, too (flashcards)
Good luck, hope you guys hear soon!!!!
