I am a RN at a Adult Day Service and make markedly more than the before-mentioned amount. I also have excellent benefits with 4 weeks paid vacation, and 12 sick days a year. M - F 9-5, no nights, holidays, or weekends. Not glamorous, but tons of fun, and great job for someone with a family. No stress either. :)
Ive been working here now over a year. I am the only nurse. I do all assessments, examinations, intakes of new participants. Home visits as well as center visits. I pass meds, help with ADLs, help serve lunches, help with cognitive functioning issues - we do lots of puzzles, games, and activities. We go on outtings once in a while. I keep track of all paperwork and charting and make sure all is up to date with physicals, TBs, etc. I do all documentation and coordination of care with PT, ST, OT, etc. Lots of things that are not really on the "RN job responsibility" sheet. That's OK.

Ok so I accepted a job in an adult day care health center in CA. Later to find out that the starting pay is $15/hr??? I'm definitely reconsidering but it's the only offer on the table right now. I thought that I must've been hearing things incorrectly or maybe they confused my application for an LVN or CNA because I basically made $15/hr as a CNA. Is this really the starting pay for an adult day care nurse? I was thinking at least 20/hr
