Saddleback College Spring 2016

Published

Just put in my application this morning for the Spring 2016 semester at Saddleback College. Waiting for the acceptance/rejection letter at the end of September is going to kill me lol :nailbiting:. So I am reaching out to any and all that are applying and hoping to find out what every ones points are (I am only at 67 points so thinking I will likely end up in one of the pools). Hopefully we all get in!!! Does anyone know what the lowest point score was to get in for the last semester? I have heard that at times they have accepted all the way down to 63 points but I heard it through the grapevine and have no idea if it is true.

Also, as a side note, I am curious about the Teas V scores received (I scored 88.7%). Browsing through the Teas section on this site it seems like most people received 90% and above but considering the National and Program averages (64.3%) on the ATI printout that cannot be the case. I am just curious so you really don't have to reply to this bit it you do not want to. :)

That's a great idea! I definitely need a schedule an appointment with my PCP soon then. I'm not sure which stethoscope they recommend, but my boyfriend bought me one for my birthday a few days ago. Hopefully it'll be okay.

Yup making an appointment is a good start! (I'll play it safe and wait for paperwork before buying stuff too)

Hello everyone,

I just joined this conversation. My name is Jenn. I also was accepted to the Saddleback Nursing program for Spring 2016. I will be attending the paperwork session on Friday October 16th. I will be looking forward to meeting you guys at orientation on December 4th. =-) Congratulations to you all who made it! Good luck to all of us and lets DO this! I am so excited and so nervous at the same time! I heard it is a great program but very challenging, but doable. We can do this guys!

Yay! It's awesome to hear from you Jenn and congrats on getting in!!! :D So excited and can hardly wait to meet everyone.

Does anyone know which room the paperwork session is in tomorrow?

No idea. I have not heard or seen anything about what room it is supposed to be in. I am guessing that there will be a notice on the main doors to the health science building.

Hi,

I took my Teas V exam on Nov. 9th. I scored 70% which is 15% below what I wanted. I thought the science portion of the teas was difficult as well as the passages in the reading section. Did anyone else have trouble in those areas as well? I think my anxiety just took over. :(

I scored a 70 on my Teas. I literally applied to this program on the very last day, and took my teas the day before I turned in my application. I did not have anytime to study at all. I got in. I am sure you can too.

So, I got a little inside tip, I was told to have to bookstore open up the box of books we are required to buy and then you can go on amazon and buy them yourself. This might save some money for some of us.

Thank you ocbeauty! The only problem is that I will only have 58 points when I apply in February for Fall 2016. Nursing Admin mentioned that out of all the applicants, a certain percentage will be randomly selected. I am hoping I am one of them. If you do not mind me asking, were you accepted with a lot of points? Usually 67 and up is a good number of points to have.

Does the bookstore already have our required books? That would be awesome if they did. I didn't think we got our book list until orientation. Have you guys heard anything about clinical locations yet? I'm really hoping to get Mission Hospital (its the closest to home).

Has anyone gotten their assignments yet? Last time I went into the office, they told me they'd be ready 11/20.
