Hi there!
I just submitted my application for fall of 2015, didn't find a fall 2015 board so figured I'd start one! Who else is applying? I've seen on previous semesters that people knew the total amount of applicants-anyone know the total amount for this semester or how to find out? I have 85 (possibly 87) points, but still terrified that I won't get in. Good luck everyone!
Don't be paranoid! I just saw how much the books cost and fell out of my chair! I was able to register for everything last night, including the N263 (skills lab), N202 (success strategies) and HSC 291 (mgmt assault behav). But, the email said she might have a few more to clear...so you should be good. So excited for us all!!!
Check out Chegg online for book rentals...I saw good saving with them!
Oooh I have to remember to sign up for skills lab! Thanks for the heads up on the book rentals! I actually took the MAB course last week to get it out of the way. It was actually pretty fun and good information. The professor who taught it is also one of the mental health clinical instructors and she had a really good sense of humor and upbeat personality, so if she is teaching it again, it should be fun. I wish we were allowed to use names because that sounds really vague.

Do you need to be a CNA to be a PCT at the hospital you work at? I was looking online at some positions at some hospitals and some don't specify a CNA certification, nor completion of the first semester of a nursing program. I wasn't sure if they just left it out on accident or if I should just try and apply. I've volunteered as a CCE at Hoag but that's my only experience. At Hoag you need to be a CNA to be a PCT... So I'm very curious. Thanks in advance for the info!! :)
I'm signing up for CSNA too. We don't need to wear our scrubs to orientation right? I almost died when I saw the cost of books too. Hopefully they'll give us more information on Friday. I've been reading through the blackboard sites for the classes and I'm even more excited! Did you guys buy the ATI stuff yet either?
Excited to meet you all tomorrow! Also, I am fairly certain we wear normal clothes for orientation. Scrubs are only for clinicals.
Unfortunately, I'm one of those students with a late registration date so I can't see all the Blackboard stuff yet.
I have not purchased ATI. Agreed...the cost of books is $$$$! Although, it's hopefully just first semester? Especially since the entire program is ~$4800 and first semester is slightly more than half of that.
Have ya'll read the ADN Student Handbook? I've been making my way through it the past couple days.
Have you all recovered from orientation yet?!!!I am so excited and just figuring out how all the books correlate to our slwb! This is going to be one heck of an experience! Congrats again to all of you!
Orientation was definitely overwhelming!! So much information to take in. I was really surprised that they said they would reimburse for books/ATI. That's a big relief. One of the girls from CNSA told me that the books are for the whole program too, I was worried it was by semester! Still a huge chunk of money though ðŸ˜
Congrats to all of you too, this is going to be such an amazing experience! How does everyone like their clinical instructors? Would anyone be able to recap everything we need to do before school starts? I feel so lost since there was so much to keep track of!
Hi Everyone!
I am going to take the TEAS in October. I wanted to ask if the "work rate" problems were extremely difficult. I have the concept down but there are work rate problems that use decimals too. Considering we are not allowed to use calculators on the exam, the exam probably would not throw one of those (decimal problems) at me. I have had trouble in the past with word problems so I wanted to study these and make sure I understand them clearly. Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you!
