Sacramento State (CSUS) Fall 2015 applications

Published

Hi everyone,

My name is Daniel and I just wanted to create this thread so everyone applying to Sac State can share their scores and post any questions they may have.

Ill start!

Pre +Co requisite GPA: 3.92

TEAS Score: 88.0%

Optional Criteria: 6

Overall app score: 78

I am planning to retake the TEAS exam in order to, hopefully, get a higher score!

This is the Sac State website with all the info you need: Writing Programs : GWAR for Juniors

Personally, I feel confident in my writing ability to pass the WPJ exam, but I still plan to go to one of the GWAR information workshops just to get a better feel for what it will be like. We only get one shot at it, so it better be good :)

I'm curious when everyone is planning on taking the WPJ exam. If we don't pass it for whatever reason, we'll end up needing to take a class before the spring semester. Do they offer the needed English classes During Winter intersession for those that don't pass the WPJ exam?

I didn't measure lab coat. I tried on tops and pants. XS fits me the best and then I tried on lab coat. XS also fits the best. I think you should order the same size as your tops. My measurement might be +/- 0.5 to 1 inches error.

Thanks so much! :)

Hi, I will be starting Sac State's nursing program this upcoming fall 2015 semester with all of you.

Do you guys know if the scrubs for Sac run true to size (or do they run large or small)?

If you can, go the school and try them on. They have them available Monday - Friday from 8-4 I think. We got very lucky because my friends told me the new company is much more comfortable than in semesters past. I would suggest trying them on so you can bend, move, raise your arms and get a good idea before you commit. And I ended up fitting completely different sizes than I thought I would.

I'm going to try and knock it out next month. From what I understand it isn't too hard, we just need to be able to write two coherent essays. I don't think they offer winter intersession classes we'd need if we didn't place high enough for the second semester research class.

What section are all of you in? I am in Section 5.

I'm in section 9 and will consider it my lucky number because I was also alternate #9.

I think this page shows that there was at least one class last winter intersession that would satisfy the requirement for some depending on the score you received: Class Schedule For English - WinterIntersession2014 | Sac State

So there may be hope for those who don't do well. But who knows how hard it is to get into a class like that. Hopefully we all do well and we don't even need to worry about it :)

I am going to try the scrubs on June 9th in Folsom hall before buying them . I could ask if they let me measure the length, width of different sizes and maybe i could post it here. What sizes are you looking at?

They have size charts at the school when you go to try them on. I brought one home and it matches the one I found online at http://medical.barcouniforms.com/medical/online-catalogs/pdf/sizechart.pdf.

Look at the missy fit, junior fit and unisex for the sizing used for our scrubs. The lab coat ran a little smaller. I got small tops and a medium lab coat. I am going with medium men's cargo pants because they have more pocket space. It is nice that we can choose from different styles for the tops too. The scrubs have a really soft feel to them. I think everyone will like them!

Hello, Fall 2015 cohort! Just wanted to inform you that I created a Facebook page for us. :)

Facebook page:

MOPOP - Fall 2015 BSN Students

In case you're wondering, "MOPOP" stands for Making Our Passion Our Profession.

I don't know if you were at orientation yesterday, but they did talk about the benefits of an FB for the cohort. Thank you so much for taking the time to get this set up! I'm sure it will benefit everyone and hopefully we can get to know each other a little before August.

I've found that while talking to my friends in 2nd and 3rd semester, that each cohort is named or referred to by their graduation date - rather than starting semester. That would make us Spring 2017 (wow, that feels amazing to know there's an end in sight!)

If you'd like any help in searching through the student list and inviting people to the group, let me know. It's been years since I've had a Facebook but I'm sure I can figure it out again!

Thanks again - Courtney

Hi guys,

Does anyone have any advice on finding a place to live?

Hi everyone!

I am still on the waitlist, but my number is getting close. I was wondering if any of you could post the pre-entry checklist. I would love to get a head start so that if I get called right before the semester starts, I won't be scrambling. Thank you so much!
