U.S.A. California

I will be moving soon to sacramento, my husband is getting a job in placerville and I was wondering as a new RN, I have 6 months experience on the floor at UofM hospital in the bone marrow transplant unit.

What areas are good to live in for a growing family....

What is a good hospital to work at.....

What would the income be like in that part of cali....

thanks so much....

Jobs for new grads in the region are hard to come by, but with your 6 months of experience, it should be a little easier for you to find something. It still may be a little difficult though. I would say the Roseville area is a wonderful place for a growing family to live. I think there are a lot of new housing communities in that area. I'm not sure of which hospitals are good, but there's a Kaiser and Sutter Hospital there. You can probably expect to get paid $36-$38/hr base pay with your experience depending on the facility.

El Dorado Hills and Cameron Park are nice areas and they are closer to Placerville. I am not familiar with hospitals in that area. In Sacramento, I would recommend Sutter or UC Davis. Sacramento is about 50 minutes from Placerville and El Dorado Hills and Cameron Park are about 20 minutes from Placerville.

Welome to the Valley!

There are many hospitals to choose from but I would say that you would be well off in the Folsom area. The commute to Placerville will not be too long and there are many different home choices in that area. Folsom is a wonderful place to live with growing children. There is a Kaiser Folsom, Mercy Folsom and there is also a Hospital up the hill off of HWY 50 (the name is escaping me at the moment). Living on that side of the river and the HWY will make the commute to Placerville much easier. Plus the school system in Folsom is fantastic!

As far as pay I am not sure but I would suggest looking on the website (kaiser and CHW) for info.

Sacramento has a lot to offer and is a great place for family!
