Hello everyone! Just starting a thread for SCC Fall 2024 RN program. Hope to hear from everyone applying!

There wasn't anything to submit back just a notice that I'm an alternate and the time and date of the orientation to attend. Says that they do not give information regarding ranking order and that attending orientation does not guarantee a spot in the program 😢. Wondering if any alternates have been called to fill a spot yet?

OMG I am so sorry. I am following like 3 forums. Arc had numbers listed on the return form. I am unsure for Sac city! So so sorry!

I'm an alternate. I went to the orientation yesterday, but haven't heard anything back. They said to keep checking our email. I'm not sure if you went yesterday or not, but it sounded like 3 regular applicants didn't show up and it was mandatory. Also from the look of the sign-in sheets, there were about 6 alternates on the list. So I'm praying that it means 3 spots will be opening up. 🙂
Norcalradgal I hope you do get in , good chance you will . don't give up hope !
Can you share with us your experience in orientation .My orientation isn't until May for scc RN prgram , what are the requirements on uniform and shoes ? I know its all leather black or white shoes and royal blue scrubs. Is the tone of Royal blue flexible ? I got some uniforms from Uniform advantage (buttersoft brand). But , the royal blue scrubs are different than polyester royal blue uniforms from amazon ( which are horrible on my body ) . Regarding shoes , can they have breathing micro holes ? Clogs okay ?
Regarding math , did they state what what decimal place do we round to or whats the rule for rounding ? Thank you , Im trying to get great deals on uniforms.

Orientation was awesome! I went from being bummed about not getting into Sac State to being excited about a potential opportunity in the Sac City program.
In regards to uniforms, they said that they want Dickie's or Cherokee brand royal blue scrubs. Whichever you choose, your top and bottoms must be the same brand to avoid mismatched color. The shirt has to be high v-neck with only two patch pockets. Breast pocket and side vents are allowed. The pants are flexible with the type of waste and the cut (straight, flared, cargo, etc.). Also, you can wear a long sleeve under your top, but it has to be black, white or royal blue (same with a cardigan-style sweater over your top). One cool thing is that graduated 4th-semester nursing students donate their old uniforms and books, so some of the students that spoke suggested checking that stockpile before purchasing anything. In the packet, it says that shoes must be all smooth leather with closed toe and heel. They have to be white or black (minor brand labeling in subtle color acceptable). They can also be ergonomic nursing shoes (vinyl or rubber) with a heel strap. I actually want to ask more about the shoes bc I had similar questions about holes -- I'll let you know.
Rounding rules from the orientation packet:
1) Round at the beginning of the problem for kg, but round at the end of the problem for all other calculations.
2) Round to the nearest tenth, unless otherwise indicated (includes weights and volumes)
3) Round to the nearest hundredth for any volume less than 1ml.
4) Round to a whole number for mcg and IV rates (ml and gtts).
Hope this helps! 🙂

I know for sure one person didn't show up that was in the class and I got a call after orientation that I was the next alternate on the list so I got in. I believe more spots will open up as time goes on because some people r still waiting to hear from other schools so I think people do end up leaving. I will also pray that u get in 🙏 cuz I think we all deserve a spot.
