Sacramento City college LVN Program

U.S.A. California

Hello all. Okay so it's my third time applying for the Lvn program at Scc and I a, nervous. I really really want to get in this time. I am praying it will happen but we still have a couple of weeks to wait and hear back. Anyone else waiting to hear back also?

I have applied to Sac City's LVN program the last 2 semesters...but I have applied to a million different RN programs. All the Los Rios ones 3 times, and Sierra's program, even looked at San Joaquin Delta in Stockton. I also applied for an RN program in the town I lived in before my husband and I moved to the Sacramento area. Up here there is one extra class required so I had to take that class and then start my applications, so I totally know that it's extremely frustrating waiting it out. I am sad that I didn't get into an RN program but hey at least now my career is headed in the right direction. Did you get in this semester??

No I did not get in. It was my first semester applying so I kind of expected it. I did get on the wait list at Solano I am number 336, which I am told is actually low and should get me in in two years rather than the standard three year wait. I am happy I have a guaranteed start date with Solano, but I hope I get lucky in one of the lotteries in the meantime.

Hello, I know this is an old post. However, I am glad I came upon this googling LVN program sac city college.

I just pray that there's someone else that sees this comment and shines some light for me.

I have recently started working part time-27 hours a week due to this spring semester trying to finish most of my GE requirements as well as prerequisites from here on out. Hoping to finish most if I am trying to do LVN. I spoke with a counselor and he had given me 2 options. 1, LVN bridge to RN at Sac City College since I have most of my requirements done. 2, straight RN program with ADN at Sac City as well. I am torn between the two.

What are your thoughts about LVN program bridging to RN? How does it work once you are done with the LVN program do you apply everywhere besides sac city college to do your RN program? Also, for those who doesn't qualify for financial aid, how have you gotten help financially? Did you have to take out a loan to do your schooling?
