Sac State Nursing for Spring 2018

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Is anyone here applying in October for Spring 2018 nursing program at Sac State? I know this is the last semester to apply for the older criteria and CSUS will be changing the selection criteria for Fall 2018. What's your gpa? Teas score? points? I haven't taken the teas yet and I'm super nervous.

I would think 3 years in regards to high school would mean 3 years. In college classes, it might mean 3 semesters.

+1 yes, technically that's 6 high school semesters.

Well I don't know any high schools that offer 6 semesters worth of foreign language. I'm just a little confused.

For example my high school had 3 years of Spanish: Spanish 1, Spanish 2, and Spanish 3. Each class was two semesters long.

Ahhhh that makes sense! Thanks for clarifying!

Only 2 more days guys!

Hoping the point cut off lowers because 86 is ridiculously high and it would be nice to have that safety net. I think there's a good chance it'll lower by at least a couple points though.

I would like it to go down about 4 points and have a lot of people decline! With 82 points I will be waitlisted, so the wait will be ongoing for me. I figure if I am waitlisted below 20 there is a good possibility, 20-30 is a slim chance, and over 30 is not happening this semester.

And 5 pm is so harsh, why can't it be 8 am that they send emails out? Best of luck to everyone! It seems like most people on this thread make the 86 point cut off, so I am sure you will all be excited, but I understand wanting an official "You're in!"

There's always a possibility that people miscalculate their point totals! With the optional criteria, we were able to check boxes to say we wanted to be evaluated for those points, but that doesn't mean everyone got them. That's why the preliminary cut off is based on unverified info.

What I'm getting at is that there's definitely a possibility that the starting point cut off could be a little lower than 86 before they even start making their way down the wait list.

I agree, but i'm sure the admissions coordinator would get a FLOOD of emails and calls if she sent out decisions early in the day! I don't blame her for waiting, even if it's hard for us :p

I'm sure there were people who checked all four boxes that weren't even eligible for any of those 12 points.

That's what I'm thinking too.

I also heard that they might lean on slightly overestimating the preliminary cut off. It's always easier to lower it and allow more in than it is to turn people away because the cut off was underestimated.
