Thanks!!

The environmental is for proximity to school. I couldn't find any information on it either but I went to school in El Dorado Hills which was definitely not disadvantaged so if they gave me points for it, it must be because it's local. Maybe county wide? The TEAS is probably the most important part unfortunately.. Points drop fast for grades so it can really make or break your admissions. I would buy the expensive package on the website and study lots. It's not super hard, it's just a lot of information to review, the questions try to trick you, and timing needs to practiced. Do as many practice tests as you can find (they are a little harder than the real exam so don't get discouraged) and retake if needed. Good luck!!

They JUST updated the website on the 29th and now it does say it’s simply if you did your prerequisites locally. I did all mine in Rocklin so I am good to go for those points! Now it’s all about teas... thank you for the response and well wishes! Good luck to you as well as you!

Thank you for sharing your stats! It gives a good overview of what I am also aiming for. I have a couple questions,

1.) what kind of work did you do for your health related experience criteria?

2.) What materials did you use to prepare for the TEAS and how did you prepare for it?

Thank you so much and congrats ?

A question for you first semester students...

Can I ask what your daily schedule is like? What days/hours you're on campus or at clinicals? Is this hard fast for everyone or is there any flexibility in choosing your schedule, or does it change as you go?

*I'm looking for childcare in the event I get in for Spring 2020. I'm trying to get a feel for what sort of childcare arrangements I'll need. Thanks!

Hi Etak, sorry I didn't get back to you sooner.

First semester the cohort is split into two groups: odds and evens. Even groups are on campus Mon-Thursday with one day of clinicals on Tues and their main lab day on Wed. Odd groups are on campus Mon-Fri with clinicals on Wed and lab on Fri. You don't get to choose your section number or whether you are in an odd or even group. There are pros and cons to both groups and even if you don't have class on Friday, you will be busy on Fridays. Many days you will be on campus as early 6a and on clinical days you will most likely arrive at the hospital by 5:45a. The latest class is on Thursday evenings from 3-6p. This program does front loading (more lab days in the beginning of the semester than the end) for 1st and 2nd semester so plan on about 80hr/week for the first couple weeks and then 50-60 for the remainder of the semester. There are many people in the program with children or part time jobs (up to 30hr/week) and they manage. It's doable, but just prepared. Here is a sample picture of a week's class schedule but this does not include study time. I am in an odd numbered section.

Hi. First off, congratulations! Your stats are amazing. I'm not sure if anyone is still active on here but I will be applying to the Sacramento State nursing program in 2022. Do you have any advice for scoring high on the TEAS test? Was there anything specific you did that helped you achieve your score?

Hey! Thanks!

Honestly, anything to ease anxiety would set you up pretty well. It's best to go with gut choices than to overthink them. There are a lot students that are smarter than me that didn't test well because of test anxiety. I was not feeling well at all the day I took mine but I couldn't get a refund so I figured I would take it for practice. I think not caring too much is what made me test so high LOL. Otherwise I bought the full testing module package thing from ATI and did 4 practice tests and they really helped me get used to the kinds of questions. Also, read the explanations that they give for the questions, it's super helpful!
