Sac State Fall 2016

Published

Hey all pre-nursing students, nursing students, and official nurses! I am (hopefully) transferring in the fall to the Sac State nursing program, though Chico State is also an option. I was wondering, does anyone have any idea how likely I am to get in by looking at my stats? If not, no worries, I'm sure this question gets asked a lot. :)

My Nursing GPA will be at the end of this semester: 3.889 (I'm an all A student, except for my first semester where I got a B...I was 16 at the time, I have an excuse!)

My TEAS Test score will hopefully be a 95 (that's a guesstimate, based on the ATI practice tests/study guide)

Extra Points: Possible the 3 points for Healthcare work experience for Sac, definitely for Chico. Also, I'm from Yuba county, so that gets something extra with Chico.

Ideas? Help me out folks!

I feel your pain. I'm #36. Feel like I might have to reapply for Spring. In the meantime though it will be like watching a clock hoping that they will get to my number.

Same. I am still waiting and I am #31 :( I feel like I will have to reapply

The alternate numbers for fall usually reach the 40's. Last fall was unusual, so try not to pay too much attention to that number. :)

Congrats everyone who got in!

Ladybug, is it okay if I ask you a question?

I am waitlisted and wanted to ask what was your exact Gpa and TEAS score? There does seem to be many people with the same point number so I was curious how alternate numbers are given. I have the same number of points as you. I really hope I get in too!

I can't remember where I read it, but I'm 99% sure that in the case of a tie in points, applicants are ranked first by GPA, then TEAS scores.

Thank you Lunita! Although it probably doesn't matter right now it is just crazy feeling I am soooo close to gettung in. I have a 3.90 so probably the other 79 point people have 4.0. Good luck in your app!

Lunita7 is right. Alternates with the same score are organized first by GPA, then TEAS.

My scores:

GPA: 3.92

TEAS: 89.3

supp: 6

so anyone who had a 3.93, or higher, was in front of me even though we had the same score.

Thank you for sharing!

Oops, I had 3.912! So you must be alternate 23/24! You'll get an email by next fri because we have to submit our letter of intent by Wednesday.

I had a question. Has anyone tired to get the extra points for attending a disadvantaged high school? If I don't get in this round plan to reapply for spring. I was going to try for those extra points but the school I graduated from isn't even ranked state wide. Any thoughts or suggestions?

i got 3 points for disadvantaged HS. Mine wasn't ranked either. I printed the page from the API base they linked under supp instructions. Then I sent my HS transcripts along with the API base page.

Okay great! Thanks for the info! That will boost my score quite a bit come spring.
