Well the T part is pretty straight forward.
Many students want to polish their assessment skills, are there any there any that came up in clinicals that you got feedback on, or want to improve? Oncology has so many dimensions to it: nursing interventions, pain and nausea control, therapeutic conversations, meds and chemo, not to mention time management, self care.
But really, what do you want to achieve?
Thanks for the suggestions. My first goal is actually on time management, and gradually increasing pt load. The thing with chemo is that were not allowed to hang up as students.. pain and nausea seems more like a specific goal for a pt care plan rather than a general goal for preceptorship.
I get stuck on making goals measurable..
Be specific about the skills you want to learn. That you could measure. Also, goals are not always met. It is possible that you want to observe or practice a skill and for some reason you aren't able to. For my students, an unmet goal is acceptable. Be specific about what you want to learn. Such as, I will be able to state the usual dose range for morphine, the various routes of administration and 5 side effects in one week. I will be able to list 3 nursing interventions for the treatment of nausea in 2 weeks.

Hello
I'm soon entering my clinical preceptorship, and we are required to makeup SMART goals throughout the experience. I'm in oncology BTW.. Any ideas
