Rutgers University Fall 2018 ABSN

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hello all,

I've noticed that no-one made a thread for the accelerated nursing program for fall 2018 students so I decided to start one. Feel free to share any knowledge on the program :)

Here's what I don't understand. The deadline for Rutgers accelerated BSN is so late--june 1, isn't it--how can they wait till AFTER that to notify people of their acceptance? Won't we need to accept or reject offers from other schools by then?

Literally lol. Rutgers was my safety school but being that I got accepted into Columbia University I am not applying to Rutgers anymore.

Hi All,

Applied for the 2018 Fall semester. Hope to see you on day 1. Good luck :)

Congrats! Could we ask what your background and gpa, etc were? I'm so curious as to what type of credentials applicants have when applying to their MDE program. It's fairly new and the application is so innovative. Pretty awesome you got in!

I currently attend Rutgers University and will be receiving my Bachelors in Public Health. My GPA is a 3.7 and I work as a clinical assistant. I really think if you show your passion into why you want to become a nurse you will be fine because they take a holistic approach when looking at applicants. If you need more information just PM me

I'm looking to apply and was looking at the admission criteria. What's the character limit for the personal essay?

500 or less :)

Hello everyone!

I am a 2017 Rutgers Grad and hoping to return in the fall as an ABSN student. I was recently accepted to NYU's program but prefer Rutgers for its affordability and amazing reputation. Does anyone know if decisions go out after the deadline of June 1? Thanks and good luck to everyone!

I submitted my application about a month ago. I'm so nervous! Does anyone know if Rutgers will contact you about your application before the deadline? I don't mean about an admissions decision...just wondering if they even acknowledge that they received your application. I applied to a couple of schools, and for all of them, I received an email thanking me for my application and a couple of follow up emails reminding me about missing transcripts, etc. But I received literally nothing from Rutgers. It makes me wonder if I even actually applied, LOL. Is this normal?

Hey thanks for starting this. I'm super nervous. I don't have a great undergrad gpa but I have a great prerequisite gpa so I'm hoping they look at that more. Does anyone know how to add an online school to NursingCAS? I took two classes online but I'm not sure how I should do that online. Good luck to everyone.

Has anyone heard from Rutgers? I also did not confirm receipt of my application.

What are peoples stats like? My GPA is on the lower end, but I worked as an EMT for 4 years all through college, as well as a medical assistant through RWJBarnabas Health. My personal statement was good and I sent letters in even though I know they don't require them. I've already committed to the University of Delaware for their accelerated program, but would switch to Rutgers in a heartbeat! What am I supposed to do since I'm from Jersey and would need to find housing in Delaware, all before Rutgers even releases a decision?

I just took my final exams yesterday for my last 2 pre-reqs. Once grades are posted, I'm requesting my transcripts ASAP but I'm nervous how close it is to June 1 because you know long transcript processing and paper mailing can take! On top of that Nursing CAS needs to "verify" - which took about 10 days when I applied to NJCU.

Is anyone else in a similar boat and know if Rutgers is flexible with this? I feel like part of making the deadline so late (Jun 1) is to give people an opportunity to finish up pre-reqs during the Spring semester, since they don't let you apply with science pre-reqs in progress.

Hopefully I should be fine--ahh nerve wracking!!
