Rutgers DNP/FNP spring 2019

Published

Hi,

I just wanted to start a thread for Rutgers DNP program spring 2019, since none has been started. I applied and I am waiting to hear back. Hopefully I get accepted. Please drop your comments below, it might be helpful anyone. Thanks

I applied for this fall session.  I never receive any response and whenever I called, I was told no decision has been made yet. My account is still showing no decision. I applied for the adult gerontology program.

@chrissychrissy, thanks for responding. I needs help on books and  materials that can help. How is part time program, how many day(s) a week and what are the liky challenges. Thanks.

@EveP, I think it's too early for decision on fall semester, they are still working on Spring semester. Best of luck.

@Majek

I buy a lot of the reading material on my kindle. Unfortunately there is not one place to find all of the books. For part time you can get away with taking the classes on the same day. For Spring ‘21 it is all virtual. The recommended part time curriculum  schedule is on the RU website. I have been deviating from it a little.

Hello! Would anyone recommend this program to a new BSN grad who knows she wants to become an NP? Thank you!

I would work for one year, if not 2 years before I apply to any NP Program. Rutgers is tough but you can do it if you are a bit seasoned and committed to success.

@Andrea Nunez hi ! I have been in the program for about 3 years I have Another two to go ! I am in the DNP FNP program and I think that this is a challenging but doable program I am working postpartum full time right now. I do not recommend going into school right away after BSN. I would def see what you like in regards to nursing and then go back to school for it! I also had the same idea as you in regards to going back to school right after my BSN and am so happy I didn't until I had 3 years of nursing experience where I bounced around the or med surge and postpartum I really understand myself more now as well as my likes and dislikes for my future career which made the decision process for my future easier and that really impacted my decision on what I wanted to go back to school for. Nursing leads down Many avenues ! With that being said I wish you luck in all your endeavors ! Much love, jess

This was very helpful! Thanks for your response. I work as a postpartum tech right now and plan to stay after graduation. But I agree that I should get more experience before NP school. Thank you and good luck to you as well! :)

Thanks! :)

Hi all! This seems to be the only forum I can find! I'm applying to the DNP Family program and would like to get some opinions on the personal statement? Or any other advice on the application process? Any help is appreciated! Thanks ?
