Hello,

For the ppl who have invites.  Can you tell us your stats please. Thanks ?

Hi, can anyone share specific tips for the interview? I am applying next month & want to just prepare in case I do get an interview

HIII!! The next wave of applications are in full swing & I was wondering if anyone who got accepted previously can help with advice on interview questions ect...

hey guys, prepare for a clinical interview, study everything ICU.

as far as stats for whoever has asked, I had like a 3.6 GPA BSN

getting in was my second time applying but I made sure my application was 10x better than the year prior because my GPA lacked. I got my ccrn csc and cmc certs, was head of some of my unit's clubs, and made sure my letters of rec were really strong. I also took one of the grad courses from the program that you can take without being in a program yet, made sure I got an A.

I also retook stats because mine was 10+ years old, I had my ACLS BLS and PALS up to date, I had continuing education on my resume and added any anesthesia related conferences I have gone to and extra unit work I participated in. I also had >50hours shadowing. I don't know if any of that helped but I wasnt going down without a fight ha

good luck to everyone applying!!

I know last year they wanted to know the proper antibiotic prophylaxis for a colonoscopy. They also wanted to know the mechanism of action of Hydroxychloroquine down to the cellular level.

are you serious? did you know the answer?? LOL those are so random....unless just uncommon in my ICU

Yeah crazy.. they also asked if I knew how being below sea level impacts the delivery of volatile anesthetics and what the benefits of delivering anesthesia at high altitudes versus sub-atmospheric pressures.

Si senorita, after the first interview they invited us all back for a second interview where each of us showcased a unique talent. I decided to demonstrate that Im also a certified dog trainer. I brought in my mini-golden doodle from home and we went through a reheorificed routine that we’ve often done before.

Best of luck with your interview!

I got in, my interview was definitely way better than people made it seem. It’s a lot of information you have to know, but it’s also things you have been exposed to. Studying helped because when you are under stress it’s easy to forget what things do and how they act. I studied for two weeks straight, went through the barrons book and another CRNA prep. The biggest thing is be yourself and realize that they are being this way for a reason. Now in a CRNA program, I completely understand why Rutgers performs these kind of interviews!

anyone currently in the program that can share their experience? pros/cons and if they would recommend the program
