Nursing Students School Programs

Hello! Thought I'd start a thread as I haven't found one. Has anyone applied for Rutgers ABSN summer 2020 start?

@SDC21 That's awesome and congrats again! I saw your question on another thread, and don't know if it's been answered: You can accept and pay the enrollment fee from the status screen on your application. But I think if RU is your undergrad, you don't have to pay. ? My undergrad was a BFA - dance, about 100 years ago in NYC.

I was accepted to Saint Peters and Rutgers and am still waiting for NJCU JC campus to respond. I'm definitely going to RU because of the May start date, proximity to my home, and length of the program. I have a toddler and I think 4 semesters compared to 3 will be more manageable!

I'm working my way through clinical clearance stuff now. You'll get all this in an email (it took about a week for mine) but orientation for Newark is Thursday 4/9. Feel free to reach out anytime!

Thank you for all the information!! ? Congrats!! and WOW! what a change. I've heard the first semester we only have 4 days (Mondays off). I just filled out the form so now I am waiting for the rest

Hi There! I can't speak on behalf of RU Newark very much as I have only been there for an ABSN information session and then I drove through the campus once accepted. I know that the Health Science building where all the nursing classes are held is slightly removed from the main, larger part of the campus. There is a parking deck that we can buy a pass for once we are enrolled in classes and a friend in the program says its worth it because street parking is complicated.

As for living off campus, I can't really help. Although, I will say... a friend of mine went to Rutgers Newark Law School and had friends who lived off campus in the area. She said she always felt safe. At night, it feels less safe but her friends still walked home to their apartments and it was fine. From what I understand, all the nursing classes are during the day - I dont think there's any night classes for us. Hopefully our facebook group can be more helpful in this area!

I will say was impressed with the nursing dept facilities. The sim lab is very exciting!

Yes, I've heard the same. Wondering if it will still be four days given the shorter Summer semester. Can't wait to get more information!!

Thank you so much for the insight! I am trying to plan ahead a little bit for the dorming or room sharing situation. I was thinking that it will be such an ideal situation where I can manage to find someone from my batch to share the apt/home near by. I don't have to worry about the room mate issues when they are into parties or other "fun" stuff. I always been into group study and manage to accommodate study sessions for fellow students.

Has anyone not heard back yet? I applied for the Summer 2020 and STILL have no word from the school. I had emailed admission and they had told me to wait for the decision once it has been made. Super nervous :(

I got my acceptance 2nd week of March for NB, waitlisted first Newark

which one is better? NB or Newark?

or both are same ? any advantage over the other?

I think New Brunswick but I’m not so sure.

It’s not my first pic to be honest. I was more focused on accelerated programs than so much detail regarding which campus. Just applied for more options

I only applied for Newark. Its closer to where I live. But I had studied in Rutgers NB, and I loved it. Newark campus is not the same. Youre basically in the middle of the city of Newark. While in New Brunswick there is a bunch of different campuses. It is what college is supposed to look and feel. Also Alex library is where its at y'all. If you choose NB, that place will be your second home.
