Anyone done Rush University in Chicago NP program?

Specializes in Nephrology, Cardiology, ER, ICU.

Hi Zenman - don't mean to hijack your thread, but how are you doing? I gather you are still in the Far East? Are you considering the NP? Which specialty?

Yep, still in Bangladesh. I plan on doing FNP just for the heck of it!

I think you get free tuition if you work FT there. I recall their FNP (I think) and CRNA programs are top rated (sorry, don't remember). The free tuition part is not to be overlooked .... plus it's a great place to work. I got my BSN there.

Specializes in mostly in the basement.

Hi Zenman,

I was pretty much decided on Rush for graduate work(online (mostly) NP) but now I'm having professional ennui and am back in the whole NP/PA/MD circle of hell....:)

I felt I'd researched enough and chose Rush mainly because though it's online, their cohorts tend to be small and w/the $$ they seem to do a good job of being actively involved with your clinical experience---no matter where that might be...

I only worked w/ one person who graduated from Rush. An ACNP(I think) who was my ER preceptor. She loved it but chooses to work staff in CA for the cash as a traveler rather than an NP in her home state.

Does the FNP require on campus visits? My specialty wants a weekend on each semester end. Is that do-able for you out yonder?

Good luck.

I don't see anything about campus visits, but I've emailed them to get the details. They just changed (in the last few days) one of their web pages and it now says that post-masters certificate program of study arranged individually. So, it does seem like they are responsive to student needs. Plus you can be admitted any quarter versus waiting for once a year admit.

I'll come to the states for clinical.
