I can't help you, but you could try going to their website. Often these sites will show salary ranges, but they can vary a lot.
You did not say where you live , but just incase you are NOT in Chicago, to find out salaries there (in general), you can try to go to :
may find some info there. Good luck!!!! Maybe a nurse who works at Rush can help you out, in the meantime.
I don't know what Rush currently offers salary-wise to new grads, but I can assure you that it will be competitive with other medical centers in the area. Rush is in very close proximity to U of I and Cook County, both of which are unionized, so Rush must offer a similar package of salary and benefits in order to attract top-notch candidates. I worked there as a new grad (a long time ago), and was not quoted a salary until the unit manager made a formal offer, and then it was put in writing.
I would highly recommend Rush as an institution which is very "new grad" friendly. I learned more there in 2-1/2 years than in all the years that have followed. I had the opportunity to take on added responsibilities such as transport, charge, committee work, and staff education that I would not have had the chance to do at most other hospitals.
Good luck in your job search. Are you looking for something in Maternal-Child nursing?
Thanks : )
I am definitely interested in Maternal-Child nursing. I live in the western burbs of Chicago and I accepted a position at Loyola in OB last week (starting Nov 15th) and I interviewed at Rush last week (they will get back to me in 1-2 weeks). Would there be a problem with me accepting the job at Rush if I already completed the preemployment physical at Loyola? I didn't sign a contract or anything.

Does anyone know what the hourly wage is for new RN grads at Rush? I interviewed there last week but salary was never mentioned and I didn't feel comfortable asking (silly mistake). Thanks :)
Hey! I'm looking at working at Rush after I graduate in May!! I picked up some information at the nursing career fair at my school (in Minnesota) which states the following wages:
Days- $36/hr weekdays, $38.50/hr weekends
Evenings- $38.60/hr weekdays, $40.10/hr weekends
Nights- $39.70/hr weekdays, $41.20/hr weekends.
Time and a half for holidays and overtime.
It doesn't specify whether this is "new grad" pay or not, but I hope it helps. Seems really good to me, but what do I know!!
Wow! That pay seems too good to be true :) I hope it is true and now I REALLY hope I get the job LOL

Hi! I graduated from Rush about a year ago. New grads start at about $21.__, and there is shift and weekend differential. During that time there was no room for me in LD so I decided to go somewhere else. There are so much opportunities at Rush - it's a great hospital- plus its Magnet. They also have a float pool and I heard they sometimes accept new grads where they will train you as a LD, NICU, postpartum, and antepartum nurse. GOOD LUCK!
Thanks for the info! Do you know what the shift/weekend differentials are? I interviewed for a 7p-7a position with every other weekend rotation. Which hospital do you work at? Which unit? How do you like it?
Sorry for being so nosey LOL :)

I think the salaries Gigglesforall saw are probably for experienced RNs and/or In-House Registry.
As far as changing your mind about Loyola, IL is an "employment at will" state. You "owe" your potential employer nothing. But, as a former nurse manager, I would not have a very favorable opinion and would not consider re-hiring a staff nurse who accepted an offer, started orientation, and then split for another facility within a short period of time.
You mightconsider calling Loyola and asking to push your start date back a week or two to give yourself time to sort out your offers and preferences.
As far as salaries go, Loyola has typically been considered a more "suburban" hospital with hourly pay rates more comparable to hospitals in the suburbs. City hospitals typically pay a little more.
Good luck with your decision!
I think that I saw the same rates and that was for a resourse program if I am not mistaken. Good luck w/ all of that I worked in Rush's perinatal system for over a year now and wouldn't mind working at Rush, I like the intensity but perfer not to be crosstrained. Guess I am old fashioned in that I like L/D and just L/D nights on MBU or in the nursery is not my cup of tea. I have learned from experience that suburban hospitals/ dependant on which system you work for, is actually higher paying. I have worked a few in the burbs and one (got offers from 3) in the city and generally I am making about 8 percent more in the burbs. I still work registry out in the city. Not bad rates either.
Either way good luck to you and congrats on your new career.
BTW if that was Rush's regular rates, I don't think they would even need to post any position because those are VERY high.
$21 is not that bad, actually average for new grad pay. I started at $20.50 straight pay.
