Hi, anyone else applied to the Rush GEM program for Spring 2018 yet? I know the deadline isn't until August but I had all of my items completed so I figured why not?
Question - does everyone who meets their minimum requirements get invited for the interview or do they actually screen the applicants before they invite them for the interview?
I would be curious to know how many people get accepted if they have limited "hands-on" experience. I have all of my pre-reqs completed and my gpa is pretty good 3.8 but I have no experience in the clinical setting. I wonder how experience or lack there of is looked at when in consideration for the program. Any input would be greatly appreciated! :)
Hi everyone! I'm new to this thread here, and just wanted to say good luck to everyone interviewing! I had mine yesterday and it was very casual and laid back, it truly felt as though I was having a conversation instead of being interviewed. Does anyone know when we will hear back about acceptances?
Thank you, RushHopeful! I have my interview this afternoon and am pretty nervous but excited. They will be sending out emails on October 6 with the decisions!
Agreed, it was really simple and my interviewer was very welcoming and kind, she even gave me chocolate before bringing me back to her office to talk. She phrased it as "getting to know each other."
Also, if anyone HAPPENS to want to ask how many people they are actually interviewing, I would love it haha. There were really only about 80 at the First Look, from what I could tell.
Theatretonursing, yes!! I'm so curious about how many people were invited for interviews but I chickened out and didn't ask. I know they mentioned there were only around 70 spots in the cohort.
I didn't ask either lol...I had my interview yesterday and it wasn't super casual or formal. It was in between but it hopefully went well. Wish everyone well and hope that we all get in :) Can't wait for October 6th...
This is redundant, but I need to talk about it with people who feel me.
THE WAIT IS KILLING ME SLOWLY and it's only been 5 days since my interview. Every other day I alternate between, "I'm awesome I'll get it fa sho" and "what am I doing it's Rush of course I won't". I'm eating all the carbs and watching so much how i met your mother. How're you guys?
Oh I totally understand, RushPls. Rush is the only school I applied to for this round, and my first choice no matter what. I'm hanging in there, but barely.
I know how you feel... I'm trying to stay busy but it's hard not to think about it. I might have to take the 6th off work just so I can keep checking my email to see if I got in :)

About 30-45 minutes, just depends on what you talk about and who your interviewer is
