VA HPSP 2021
Well I can tell you it was severely unorganized and significant lack of communication. After receiving the list of possible placements, we submitted our top to bottom choices. After several months of no updates my wife reached out to the cooridinator, he said all the spots were filled and had no answers, but suggested she reach out to the facilities and see if they will take her (keep in mind, this is his job). We finally got placement after emailing a facility directly... But the fun doesn't end there. They are very unorganized, don't really seem to know what paperwork needs to be done, and we were delayed because facility errors. All in all, my wife will start soon, but it has not been without its hurdles.

VA HPSP 2021
@2011MSN I am a bit late to the discussion, but was hoping you can answer my question. My wife is in HPSP program for NP- Psych. She finishes in May next year, but we got conflicting info on if she can choose site or VA sends her where they want her. Is there a choice or is it VA needs? I know you said you got to choose up to 6 places, do you get preference over non scholarship people?

Rush University GEM Spring 2018
Undergrad GPA: 3.98 community college Cumulative 3.20 I failed chemistry the first time, retook it and got a B, retook Microbiology to improve my C to a B. So don't put all of your weight into grades, I struggled but worked hard to improve this area. Work: Navy Diver for 7 years, Government contracted diver 5 years. Shadowing: 100 hours in Burn ICU Volunteer work: Big brothers big sisters (6 years), Operation clean sweep, some other community events. My letters of rec came from a Math professor, my former Master Chief, and a councilor from community college. I was wait listed and eventually rejected at USD my first time applying, 2nd time around I was accepted to Rush, USF, and Johns Hopkins (Where I ultimately chose to go after a very tough decision between Rush and JHU). My best advice to for reapply would be to strengthen the areas you struggled, do community service, and shadow a nurse if possible. If you make this strong effort, you will get in.

About 30-45 minutes, just depends on what you talk about and who your interviewer is

Johns Hopkins MSN Entry into Nursing Spring 2018
Hi msmsn, I did indeed and thank you very much :) at this point I am still weighing my options. Both schools are stellar and have a lot to offer, so I am open to both opportunities and will have a tough time deciding which one I ultimately want to attend

Email came September 1st and a follow up phone call a few days later to ensure I got the email. I am not sure about rejection or wait list, but I was wait listed at USD last year and received a letter in the mail a few weeks after interviews.

Thank you Michelle and Agnes! My name is Mike Gerstel btw. So far I have booked a place on airbnb in logan square, but will definitely be looking forward to exploring the city some. It has been 8 years since my last stay in Chicago and both times in the tail end of winter... So this will be a nice change of pace haha.

Hi Jenny, I recently was invited for an interview as well. From my past experience, I would imagine the first look will be formal. I plan to wear a suit and tie for the interview and first look. Is anyone else flying in for this interview? I will be flying in from San Diego on 9/14

Johns Hopkins MSN Entry into Nursing Spring 2018
Hi all, I received the email a few days ago for acceptance and am definitely interested in seeing who else will be attending. I am not familiar with Baltimore, so if anyone from the area has some advice about where to find a place to live (dog friendly) that would be great!
