RUSH Gem 2014 fall cohort

Published

Figure I would start it. Had my interview yesterday and will be at first look today. Looking forward to seeing / meeting everyone. I feel my interview went very well. Anyone else have thoughts on interview? Also interested in how many males (besides me) this program attracts... Not that it matters in the slightest, but was told yesterday that there are as few as six (?) In the last cohort.

PD31,

I am wait listed, but I was guaranteed a spot for Spring 2015. This actually works out so much better, because I was going to have to miss a friend's wedding in India if I got in for the Fall. Who knew I'd actually be excited to be wait listed.

Saiger3,

My NursingCAS average GPA is not even 3.0, but my grad school GPA is 3.7. I have volunteer experience in urban community health clinics and work experience in both domestic and international public health and clinical quality control.

Hello all, I am planning on applying next year to the GEM program and to the people that have gotten in what were your GPA's like and what kind of extra's did you have (volunteering experience, work experience, etc.) Thanks!

@saiger3, both my cumulative & science GPA were around 3.4-3.6. I took a year off after undergrad to gain more experience as a CNA. I took a CNA class in June and got certified in August. I've worked as a CNA for almost five months now and the experience has been amazing. It looks good to have that on your resume when you apply but I don't think it's mandatory. Good luck applying! :)

Hi everyone.. I got pulled off the waitlist and I will be starting this fall !! I'm so excited to start and meet everyone :)

Hey aabuisba, do you mind telling me what number you were on the waitlist and when you found out you were in? Thanks!

Btw im currently #15 on the waitlist. It's not looking hopeful for me:(

It said it's waived at 3.25 but I'm confused and NursingCas is confusing to me how will it add up my grades idk guys any advice would be great. Good luck to you both

Hi guys,

Can someone whose currently in the program tell me if a car is needed to have if you're going to be living near campus. Thanks.

You don't need a car which is actually pretty awesome. :)
