Nursing Students SRNA

Published

Hi, I wanted to start a thread to see how many people have applied for 2023? Does anyone know what the interview process is like? Or when they let us know about interviews?

Got an email to interview!! Good luck everyone!!  ?

Yes if anyone who has gotten an interview would share that would be great

years of experience, what committee on, charge nurse or community service

are you from the area?

would help those of us still seeking interviews and not having success

I am hoping it has to do with I only have 2 1/2 years of experience because I am chair of quality council, preceptor, volunteer outside of work GPA was 3.78 and have my CCRN

I have been an ICU RN for 6+ Years. Last four being in CV. I have been charge, preceptor and have my CCRN TNCC and CSC. My cumulative GPA (3.2) was my weak point, as I messed around my first year of college and repeated several classes to get into the nursing program. My nursing GPA and BSN GPA are 3.8. To demonstrate that I am capable of the course work I have taken over 20 credit hours in Grad level science courses in which I have a 4.0. I have done some volunteering and have over 40 hours in shadow hours. This I also my third application. I heard programs like reapplicants. So don’t get discouraged, stay motivated and apply again!

You’ve certainly been committed. Well deserved!

I did not get an interview. Hope my other choices give me a chance! My first time applying to Rush, but on my second year of applying as I was turned down from 4 applications last year.. I have a 3.66 for my BSN, a 3.4 from my science classes taken before. I was a Surgical Technologist for 8 years before becoming a nurse, so plenty of OR experience, and I shadowed a CRNA for 20+ hours as well. As an RN I have been on my unit's UPC council, joined several other peer groups, wound team, volunteer work, Union Bargaining team.. fantastic references from the director of surgery and anesthesia from the hospital.. not sure what else I can do. I'll have to email them and ask..

Thanks for information! Did you get an interview all 3 times?

No this is my first interview.

Did anyone who received an interview here back yet with a confirmation for the date and time of their interview?

And to those asking about stats - my stats, experience, and leadership are not that impressive, I truly believe my personal statement is what got me an interview. I wrote about what I was passionate about and tied it into the programs core beliefs found on their website! Best of luck to everyone in their journey to becoming a CRNA ?

I also haven’t received confirmation yet! Maybe they’re still figuring out the interview schedule for everyone first.

Seconding what you said though also about those asking about my stats. I think my stats may have been slightly above average, but I also think personal statement and personality plays a huge role.

I’m sorry to hear this. I know we all work so hard in hopes of good news. Is this your first time applying? If you haven’t already email the the program director and ask for feedback! Thanks for updating the group though! I am going to be panicking all week every time I open my email!! ?

Thank you ? Yes, this was my first time applying to any CRNA program at all. That's good advice, I should follow up via email. I wish you luck!
