Welcome to Allnurses.com!

I hope you're cognizant that Rue Education is not a degree-granting institution of any type. Instead, they are a third-party company that publishes study materials in exchange for exorbitant fees.

Rue Education is not affiliated with Indiana State or Excelsior, and they cannot assist in any way with getting admitted into these school's nursing programs. In a nutshell, Rue Education is an outrageously expensive middleman, whereas a student can save $10,000 to $12,000 in fees by avoiding this very expensive publishing company.

In fact, Excelsior particularly warns prospective students regarding the use of overpriced study guides from third party publishing companies.

This depends on which state you intend to practice nursing, since not all state boards of nursing accept online LPN-to-RN nursing programs. Clinical hours are the main concern since these cannot be accrued online.

I would suggest finding a program that offers online classes as well in person classes and clinicals. With an online program your clinicals are all crammed in to 2.5 days and you will probably have to travel to the clinical site. A good friend of mine did an all online program, the clinical site was 3 hours away so she had to stay in a hotel. There were others in her group that had travelled from the other side if the country! Out of her group of like 20 only 3 passed! Can you imagine traveling across country and paying to stay in a hotel only to fail the clinicals?!

Are you talking about Excelsior? I don't think they ever have a group of more than 6 or 7. If you study and practice and keep your nerves under control, the clinical is doable. I think the latest stats say that 40,000 nurses have done it.
