Hey I know RSV is contact...but since the CDC said to wear a mask with it. Why don't they just make it droplet? We do wear a mask with it right? I read that table correctly I hope.
According to Saunder's and the MRS. WEE mnemonic RSV is considered CONTACT precautions requiring a private room (or a room with another child with RSV if a private is not available), gown, and gloves.
Well yeah I know it's contact...but the CDC table said "wear a mask according to standard precautions". It says that it can be spread when people cough, sneeze, etc their droplets...
What I am trying to say is to go by RSV being contact precautions for NCLEX, may be different in the "real world" but they tell you over and over not to go by what may happen in the "real world" on the NCLEX.
Think about all of the things that RN's delegate to LPN/LVN's, CNA's in the "real world" but DON'T do that on the NCLEX.
Good Luck!
