Rpn St. Clair College Windsor for January

Published

Just wondering if anyone has/is planning to apply to the Rpn January intake at St Clair College Windsor ? :). I plan to apply this week!

Good luck. I am starting my BScN at Laurentian. Starting has a RPN is always a good idea since you have more advantage in maturity. I am a bid older and most of my classmate just finish high school (but some of them seem mature). Also, you get to know more about the nursing field comparing me which it is a great start if you do not know if you want to become a nurse. When you finish, I suggest to do the bridge over to the BScN since you get more job roles (RPN job roles mind change onces I graduate from my BScN who knows).

There are tons of roles for RPNs. You don't have to go the BSN route to have a choice.

Thank you both for replying to me, I appreciate it more than you know! I am actually a bit older myself and after a lot of soul searching I believe RPN is the way to go. I know I do not have to be an RN to have an amazing job and am looking forward to it, but who knows where my career will take me in the future! It is nice to have options. Now if only the previous college I attended would stop messing up my record then maybe I could apply.. unfortunately I may not be able to now, or I may miss the deadline. I am very worried about this and I am hoping they sort it out soon. St Clair says online that their equal consideration deadline is September 15th for the January intake but I am nervous because it is an oversubscribed program. Any advice?

I work in a hospital and the only place RPNs don't work is the ICU.

That is awesome! I am not sure if anyone will have an answer for this question but I have recently learned that the reason I did not receive my 2013/2014 Pre Health diploma was because I took the second half of a chemistry course instead of one of the choices -- introduction to healthcare or physics, (at the time I was told it would count, now they say it does not). So evidently because of this I will may not get my diploma and will have to talk to the Course coordinator. Should I still apply to Rpn - St Clair college Windsor or will they not be happy that I did not receive my diploma? I do have an A in Anatomy and a B in Chemistry plus, on top of that I have a few extra courses under my belt like Pharmacology & Non prescription drugs from a year of Pharmacy Technician. Would that make a difference ? Or should I wait till I can obtain my diploma. --- feeling lost over here :( .
