So .. somehow I managed to pass round 1 interview. They didn't ask much just the standard tell me about yourself, why nursing, and overall it was a very enjoyable conversation we even had a feel laughs ok more than that (eye watering, table pounding type haha)I interviewed on tuesday and now waiting for the phone call for them to schedule round 2. I know i'll be meeting with my direct supervisors, and another ADN on that shift. Should how follow up to remind em to call?
what type of questions should i prepare for 2nd round of interviews? this is for ER.
When I had a second interview at my last job (nursing home) it was with the nurse manager, 2 of the nurses, and a nursing assistant - as well as the manager that had initially interviewed me. Since it was the first time most of them had met me, they did a lot of the same "tell me about yourself" questions, but after they did that they gave me several "typical" scenarios and asked me how I would deal with it. Since I was interviewing for a nursing home, mine were specific to that sort of area. I would assume that your interview will be similar, however, with scenarios more suited towards the daily workings of the emergency room.
As far as a follow-up, I always get the names (business card if they have one so you get the spelling correct) of the individuals that I interviewed with. On my way home, I stop and buy a thank-you card for each, write a nice short thank you and always mention something that we discussed - like "...I really look forward to ____..." Then I mail it out the same day - I NEVER email it and I keep it short and simple. Basically, it is just to thank them for taking time out of their busy day to meet with you as well as throwing your name at them one last time while they're making their final decisions.
Good luck!
