Hey guys!
Long time lurker and finally decided to post something as I haven't seen anything updated in awhile.
I just received my invite for an interview to the Nevada campus for next month. Just wondering how any of you felt about the interviews, the university and the program and any advice you can give for the interview. My transferable GPA I believe is somewhere between a 3.2-3.4 and my science TEAS score is around 92% ( I heard they look at this one the most). Anybody have a general sense of what my chances are? Someone on another thread said if you get an interview you're basically a shoe in.
Any info is appreciated.
Thanks guys.
I would advised anyone that is anxiously waiting to call their advisor to see where you stand. I haven't gotten my invite yet, but my advisor just happened to called me and let me know not to stress. I'm so much more at ease now because he told me my overall percentage and where I stand on paper compared to other applicants.
They're working on sending out invites up until Monday for the June interview. Students from previous cohort that deferred their interview has priority so if you don't hear back by then, it just means you have been pushed to July interview at Henderson.
He also informed me at the end of the interview you can state why you want to be placed at Henderson campus. it's not a guarantee but it can help your case.
Some updates for y'all after speaking to my advisor today:
-all June interviewees have been notified. So if you haven't and youre in good standing, you are more than likely having your interview July 18 in Henderson. :-)
-You should anticipate an invitation before the Fourth of July holiday break.
-only a few people were selected for the first round of interviews because there were lots of ppl from July apps who chose to defer interview to October when the program became full or campus of choice became full. Congrats to those few! You're amazing!
- There are only 35-40 ppl interviewing this first round this cohort (they used to do ~75) so there is no chance of your campus of choice getting full before second interviews. :)
- it's true, your advisor can give you a good idea of where you stand.
Don't worry, we've got this! :-)
@hopefulRN94, Thanks for the info!!! HAHAH is it too early for me too book my flight. SO glad you asked about getting into campus of choice, because I selected Utah as my first choice, thinking it would be nice to have Winter and snow for boarding (don't have that here in the Bay Area) but having second doubts because flight to Utah cost so much more and also been watching too many youtube videos of 'life like in Utah', Hahaha.
So far i only have my interview date of the 13th at 1pm until about 5 pm. They will go over the rest while we are there i do believe. I will make sure to post my briefing on here. They also do a webinar the day before to go over interview questions, etiquette, etc. i booked a hotel for the evening before bc im driving from vegas (5-6 hr drive) and it cost me a tad over $100 for a semi decent room close to the school.
