Can any graduates/recent students comment on the program?
I'm deciding on applying by the end of this month.
Any and all feedback whether positive or negative would be welcome.
Thanks

I am not a a student at Roseman but from what I have read from the threads it is super intensive. Lectures are given over the internet and you need to get 90% in order to pass the mid-terms and exams. Are you applying to the ABSN program? The pace of program can be a litmus test of your dedication.

I personally did the 18-month BSN program that was NOT online. We were in class Monday-Friday from 8-3pm, unless it was during our clinical blocks. I have nothing but good things to say about the program. Graduated in March, passed my NCLEX, and from what I have heard so far, ALL of my classmates that have taken NCLEX have passed on their first try. We were all more than prepared because this program was (and will be for you) the hardest thing you will EVER go through. Getting 90% on every assignment, quiz, presentation, exam is not for the faint of heart. That being said, if you're willing to put in the time, the whole experience is very rewarding. Feel free to PM me if you have any more questions, I'll be glad to help you. :)
Thanks for the input LaineyLe,
How many retakes were you allowed?
Every block you are allowed one remediation (i.e. re-take). Some blocks (Med Surg I and Med Surg II) allow you to do two re-takes, which are called "Super Finals". Basically, instead of re-taking the test that you didn't pass, you are retested on all the material of that particular block. There are a few ppl in my class who have never remediated; on the flip side, there were a few who remediated almost every single block. In the end, we still graduate with the same degree. =)
I pmed you! I have a few questions about the program if you don't mind answering them. I'm supposed to be invited to the next interview for the traditional BSN program and I'm deciding if I want to attend since I have to fly in

LaineyLe: Unfortunately I don't have enough posts yet, so I can't send you a PM. But I did have a few questions! (And maybe more when I can think of them)
You said you only get one remediation per block with the exception of med-surg. How many tests/quizzes/presentations per block are there, usually? For some reason I was under the impression that you needed to get 90% on the final assessment, and if you didn't, that is what you remediate. If a 90% is required on every single thing, does that mean you fail if you don't get a 90% on both a quiz and a presentation or a quiz and a midterm/final?
Vegas Volt, I just sent you a PM. Let me know if you have any other questions =)

I graduated from Roseman two years ago. The program is ridiculous hard. I hear its still ridiculous hard. I never had to remediate a class but I did have to remediate exams. I made it through... many times on pure luck. Much of the time the only difference between me and the other person who failed was 1 point (an 89% vs 90%). If this is your only options, then by all means. Its better to go and try than to languish on a waiting list for a few more years.
