Yes, the program is super difficult. Our class started with 68 people and I think we ended up graduating 54 (our class was really 50 or 51, but we had 2 or 3 people jump into our class from the class before). Obviously, it's doable if you put in the time and effort.

Every block you are allowed one remediation (i.e. re-take). Some blocks (Med Surg I and Med Surg II) allow you to do two re-takes, which are called "Super Finals". Basically, instead of re-taking the test that you didn't pass, you are retested on all the material of that particular block. There are a few ppl in my class who have never remediated; on the flip side, there were a few who remediated almost every single block. In the end, we still graduate with the same degree. =)

I applied to Peds, Med/Surg/, and Tele/Observation. Got my BA at UCLA years ago, and recently completed my BSN. My status is still under "Online Assessment Completed". Hopefully they'll start getting back to all of us soon. Good luck everyone!! :)

I personally did the 18-month BSN program that was NOT online. We were in class Monday-Friday from 8-3pm, unless it was during our clinical blocks. I have nothing but good things to say about the program. Graduated in March, passed my NCLEX, and from what I have heard so far, ALL of my classmates that have taken NCLEX have passed on their first try. We were all more than prepared because this program was (and will be for you) the hardest thing you will EVER go through. Getting 90% on every assignment, quiz, presentation, exam is not for the faint of heart. That being said, if you're willing to put in the time, the whole experience is very rewarding. Got my official award letter yesterday, I can log on to the site as a participant! Good luck to all, I talked to another friend who graduated from nursing school last year, and her classmate that received the scholarship found out in the middle of September. There is still hope out there!! =)

What you carry also depends on what your school schedule is like. I'm in an accelerated nursing program where we're in class Monday-Friday from 8-3pm, and it's block scheduling. For Med-Surg we basically had about 2 big textbooks we refer to and the school gives us a laptop that all of us bring everyday. Hence, I have to carry everything (not to mention lunch/snacks, water bottle, other textbooks/references, etc) so the rolling backpack works. Also, my school is small (no hallways filled with people, my nursing class is approximately 54 people) so not really a tripping hazard. I guess it depends on what your schedule situation is. If you pull the rolling backpack, more power to you!!

Good to know! I talked to my financial aid office today too, and she said it all depends on when the money will be awarded. Someone from my school won the award last year, and because we have to pay our fees the first week of September, he had to take out a loan because their payments didn't go through until November. I don't mind taking out a loan, especially if I know the scholarship would cover for everything. =) But if we get our payment earlier, we won't have to worry about the loan! If I hear anything more I'll post on here to keep everyone updated!

I'm confused too because I have to have tuition fees paid by the beginning of September, and I don't think we get our money until November. Does that mean we have to take out a loan, and then the scholarship pays our tuition directly to the school and we give the money back? Wondering if anyone can clear this up. =)

Thanks! Don't be discouraged, it's possible to even get an acceptance letter in late July...it happens. =) Keep us updated if you do get in!

blairnpb, The 18 month program starts on August 6th for the August cohort. I think our orientation is Aug 2-3rd.

There's another thread going on for some of us that are going for Fall 2012: https://allnurses.com/nv-nursing-programs/roseman-bsn-anybody-699008.html I interviewed at the end of March and found out in April, so it was about two weeks later. However, they said that some students don't here until the summer depending on when you interviewed and if you still have some prereqs to take. When was your interview? Did you still have some classes left to take?
