Rosalind Franklin University CRNA App 2023

Updated:   Published

Let's watch this Rosalind Franklin University application process together!

Notes: the app went live August 11th 2022 and it's a rolling application so get your stuff in asap. I went to the info session and it sounds like virtual interviews are being held between October and February and the invites for those start being sent out in early September. Offer letters started coming out last year in November.

Post if you find out anything to share! Good luck to us all!

Update- I was told they have admitted 39 of the 40 seats. Waiting to hear back from the last offer. If they deny, they will move to the waitlist.

Any update on whether or not they filled the spot? Appreciate your previous update so much! Thank you!

Anyone have any updates?

Emailed admissions. They said all spots are filled. If anyone backs out they will go to waitlist.

Not sure this is the right thread, but I'm wanting to apply during the 2023 application period. I'm getting my NursingCAS profile completed and entering my transcripts. I can't find the application on the portal. Does it become available once the application window opens or you're just able to submit during that time? First timer here and just want to make sure I'm not missing anything!

Also can anyone shed light on their extracurriculars and volunteer experience for their application? Curious what others have done!

You will be able to find the application the day they open on NursingCas sometime in August. My recommendation is to apply early they start reviewing and sending out interview invites usually first couple weeks. I personally did not have any volunteering or committees on my applications. But I did have leadership experience by having charge experience, code team experience, along with my CCRN and CMC. It's all about how you can sell your experience and can be personable.

hi all, I am planning to apply once the portal opens in august. is there a specific essay prompt? The one provided seems vary vague.

anyone take stats in high school and got in? I took mine in high school and got ap credits which reflects on my transcripts.

How should folks go about prepping for interviews? any clinical questions?

do references send an actual letter of recommendation or are they just contact points?

I took the GRE. is it even worth sending it to them?

I'm applying for CRNA 2024 at RFU, so just wanting some insight from previous applicants/students. I applied the day the application opened and was verified and confirmed with RFU rather quickly. I just received an email today that my application has been placed on hold. I did not receive an interview invitation. On the RFU website there is a FAQ about hold status but it pertains to post interview hold status and not pre interview. Anyone ever heard of an applicant being placed on hold pre-interview? I'm considering this a soft denial but just wanting some insight from previous applicants. Thank you!

Since the interviews are rolling, after applying everyone gets a response right away with a decision of interview offer, on hold, or denial. They would not consider on hold applicants until all interviews have been conducted (interviews continue into January). I believe it would be rare to be accepted after an on hold decision but not impossible.

That's what I thought, highly unlikely to be accepted if placed on hold pre-interview. Thanks for your response! I would be curious to know if anyone has been in this same situation and ended up getting accepted.

I was on hold last year, and it was basically a soft denial. I am not sure why this is even an option, since it becomes a list of applicants that are only pulled if they don't get other qualified applicants. My friend was also on hold last year and we both got a rejection in February, after waiting 6 months. I highly recommend applying to any other programs in the meantime.

The only good thing about being on hold is that it encourages you to apply again. If you didn't got a firm rejection, you were pretty competitive, but just not quite enough for an interview. So, take it as motivation to strengthen your experience and resume for next year.

did you get feedback from admissions after they sent your rejection letter? I emailed asking for clarification on the hold status and an estimate about when I would hear back and was told they're unable to discuss my application with me since the application window is still open and there isn't a definitive timeframe for a response. Pretty discouraging, but I will be applying elsewhere in the meantime.

I approached them with the position of planning for next years application. I planned a meeting with an advisor and asked what I could do differently for next year to be a stronger candidate. Even though being on hold is unhelpful, you might find some good feedback if you plan a meeting. I've done everything they told me to do, so I'm hoping this year is a green light.
Don't stop applying other places.
