Does anyone have any info, good or bad about this place? I have an opportunity to go their for Weekend Option with outrageous salary and benifits. Just wondering about the place because you know what they say about something that looks to good...... Thanks for your input

OK she says it wasn't all that good back when she worked there. BUT since they have joined with the catholic hospital St. Francis Bon Secour they have really improved their reputation.

What job are you looking at? You know travel to look at job prospects is a legitimate deduction :) and Charleston is always beautiful.

I have worked Roper and my observation is that because it is a privately run hospital. The physicians are rude and unlike a teaching facility you cannot do anything without a physicians order. Including simple tasks like IV's for cardiac patients, EKG.s for patients in chest pain. Roper's turnover is high which is why the salaries are high because Nurses want to practice their craft and not be treated as idiots.

:uhoh3: I tried to get a position at this hospital and I was too treated rudely by the RN Manager interviewing me. They wouldn't give me a chance to work there b/c of no experience in the particular job I was applying for at the time (which was a on the job training position). :o :angryfire

Hi, does anyone know what the nurse patient ratios are like at St Francis and at Roper?

Ortho at St Francis, and either Ortho or surgical unit 5e at Roper? Both have as needed positions, though St Francis is better for the commute and flooding problems. Also, the joint replacement center and rehab hospital at Roper have as needed positions, know anything about those places?

Would appreciate anything anyone could tell me. Thanks!
