I havent found any threads on the Spring 2012 Nursing program, soo i figured id start one! I have already recieved an Email saying everything has been recieved, just waiting on my letter to see if I was accepted! Does anyone know when theyll be sent out? Has anyone recieved that email yet? :redpinkhe

hi there, did anyone applied to the south shore campus? I feel like im the only one who is going to go there.

Hello to all, I also applied for the DM program. Hopefully to get in. But I didn't have the option to apply for a second campus. Will they give us that option if we get accepted? I also heard we have to wait to mid Sept to received the letter in the mail. Good Luck to everyone!!!!!!

When you applied on the application it asks for your choices in order, if your grades are high enough they put you into your first choice, if not then they pass you to whatever is available.

Sorry, it's been so long and I forgot. Once you get the acceptance letter for the Nursing program at HCC; you'll get a form to fill out to indicate whether you want to take the seat or not...and at what HCC campus you prefer. Sorry about that mix up.

Just a heads up though, in my class, it seems that if you have a 3.7 and above you got your first choice...all others got what was left over. Dale Mabry filled up first. There are many people at Plant City that live only a few minutes away from Dale Mabry and I feel so bad for them. This semester at orientation the counselors say that unless you have extenuating circumstances, the campus that you get assigned will be the campus you will have for all 4 semesters. They're trying to track the effectiveness at each of the campuses.

Hello all!

I applied also for the spring 2012 entry at DM campus. My prereg GPA is a 3.8 so IF my app is complete, then I should be pretty good. BUT...my english composition requirement was met by AP testing in high school, and those records were archived in the college board...so I had to have the AP people send them to HCC, which they did in May, but HCC STILL has not entered them in the system. I did turn in an "unofficial" copy (which is bogus, because it is the exact same as the "official" copy, just not in a sealed envelope) so hopefully that is enough. I guess that is my biggest worry, that they will consider my app incomplete..but if they do I will definitely appeal b/c they have had my scores for 2mos now..not my fault they haven't entered them yet.

On web advisor, under the my documents tab, it does say they rec'd everything except the Nursing prereqs...does all of yours say that? I asked admissions what that meant and they said it would say that for a while b/c that is what takes the longest...calculating everyone's gpas.

As far as when we will hear about it...I PRAY, that it isn't September. That would royally suck considering I have, like OCD or something when it comes to this...I literally check web advisor every day, plus Hawknet, and I have my parents on a lookout for the letter. I did notice that this years Fall entry students had to turn in their apps by Feb 15th, and they rec'd their letters by the second week of April..so about 7-8 weeks after the app due date. I hope that is the case with us as well.

Don't sweat it too much, you're getting yourself wound up for nothing. That's a really competitive GPA. You should be very proud of yourself and have confidence that you'll get in and not only that, most likely you'll get your first choice of campus. Find something else to work on, take a Chemistry class and redirect some of that anxiety to something productive. You'll be fine. Relax and enjoy this time because the program is going to be difficult and time consuming. We'll see you in the Spring.

I'm so anxious......I emailed the nursing program asking how long does it takes for us to received the acceptance/denial letter. They said mid Aug. I hope this is true since waiting for Sept is too much.......
