hello, i wanted to stop by and say hi. i am actually a npiii student (well come aug 22) at hcc and thought that some of my insight might (and i use that term loosely) help calm some nerves. unless they have changed anything since i was accepted back in march of 2010 we received 2 letters via usps. the first letter sent in march stated that we had been accepted to the program and gave directions on what we needed to do next...ie accept our seat and complete a background check on the website they stated. a month or so later we received a 2nd letter stating what campus we got into and when orientation was.

i know what you all are going through but if i can give any advice it would be to know that you can't do anything to change the outcome (and that advise came from my husband when i was in the program) and because of that try to relax and enjoy this time because if and when you do get accepted, the next two years just might be a blur. also try to remember they are currently working to finalize things/classes for the incoming npi students and all returning students so if they aren't quick to get back to you, you will know why.

finally, if you should have any questions about the program and/or the process please feel free to ask.

Hi everyone!! I just found this community. I applied for the HCC nursing program and I chose Southshore as my campus. Everyone I have talked to has indicated mid September is the earliest we will receive any news, and it will be via mail, not email. I'm as anxious as all of you, it's so hard waiting, it feels like our lives our on hold until we receive that letter. I'll have my fingers crossed for all of you, good luck!!!!

I dont know how I am going to make it till mid September waiting to hear something. The suspense is killing me!!! I need to know pronto :)

Also, I see some of you have noted that your hawknet is showing that your prereqs are incomplete, even though you have done everything. I have this same issue. I went to the school to speak with an advisor about this and she assured me that when they pull up our transcripts they will see that they are all completed. (we all know that some of the people who work there are not the smartest). however, she said if it did become an issue with me not getting in, i would be able to easily get in via the appeal process.

I just want to find something out!! Ahhh I am going crazy!

Becky, I was told the same thing about the prereqs. The application process was confusing, I don't have any worries about my GPA, it's more about HCC having all my information and getting everything right.

Mine said prereqs not rec'd for a very long time..it finally changed last week. Yours will change too I'm sure. I know they say mid-september..but they told the Fall entry people (the ones starting this semsester) that they would get their letters in mid april, and they actually got them in mid march. So I think it will be more like mid August for us, instead of mid-september. Which is still really way too long for my nerves, and my marriage... :idea:

The deadline for the Fall was Jan.18th and they found out in March, so mid Aug. Sounds great to me :)

Any news anyone??? I can't believe that checking this site and my hawknet has become a must for me everyday. I guess will hear something in mid Sept, since all the threads from previous years had the letters around that time. I don't understand how they still have opening for classes that start in the Fall. Don't they have to fill every opening?
