I am a registered nurse in the States and have about 10 years experience. We are looking at transferring to Germany the end of 2010 or so. How difficult is it to get a job in a military hospital around Ramstein (Landstuhl) with military spouse preference? I would like to try to get a job in the ICU there if possible because when we come back I will be looking to go to CRNA school. Thanks for any and all help!

Hi wanttobecrna123-
I as well am interested in working at Landstuhl Medical Center. I would love to work in Germany period actually. My problem is that I know only a little German. I was wondering if you knew of the requirements to be able to work in Germany as a RN? I have researched online quite a bit and have come up with little information. I would love to travel as an RN but I haven't found any website that works with Germany. I would love to hear back from you =)

I don't know anything about the requirements to be a nurse in Germany. I am taking baby steps right now. We are picking our next bases right now and want to get some positive feedback that I will be able to work in nursing over there. If I here of anything I will be sure and let you know.

I have searched for some information about nurses in Germany on Landstuhl but most are a few years old and not sure if things have changed over the years. I'm trying to find some current stuff. If you know of any specific posts, will you please send me links? Thanks for taking the time to respond.

If you type in "germany" in the search box on top of this page several threads are coming up.
Have a look at those.
There's quite a recent one I bet you can contact Susanne and she'll be able to help you with more info.
