RN in PHILIPPINES...waiting to get registered in CANADA

Published

I am a registered nurse in the Philippines since 2007 and has worked in a government hospital for more than 3 years. I just recently immigrated to canada with my family and awaiting for the result of the nurse assessment. I am not able to practice my profession and has been self reviewing for the exam. I would like to find any part time job related to health care but they all require being registered. i have been waiting since january when i have submitted my requirements. what options can i have while waiting?

Specializes in Acute Care, Rehab, Palliative.

The only thing I can think of is you may be able to find a job as a Personal Support Worker. Most places require that you have the PSW certificate but some places will hire you without it.

If you want to work in health care most facilities require you to at least have your current CPR and First Aid Certification. The certifications we have in the Philippines will not be accepted here in Canada. You can do that for now :-)

You can work at any job except a nurse.

Be wild, try a job you've always wanted to try but couldn't before now.
