Hello,
Has anyone heard about the RN program that you do online here in the USA and then you go for 2-3 months to Puerto Rico to do the clinicals? Anyone has a phone number or any way to contact them?

Sounds extremely sketchy. Some states will NOT accept that because they require clinicals to be concurrent with the class they are for. You are going to be unimaginably busy if you try to cram clinical hours into 8-12 weeks. That's at least 12 hours a day every day with no days off. Add in travel, room, board, and what the hell is the advantage of a program like this???

That sounds really scary...I would think hospitals would want you to have a degree from an accredited program by the NLN/ANA as their scope of practice and standards of nursing are what you would be practicing by. It makes no sense to do all of your nursing online then spend 2-3 months in PR for clinicals, you should do clinicals all along instead of learning everything at one given time. Perhaps you should think of why you are going into nursing? Are you going into it for the quick schooling and good money? If so, you may want to re-think because on the job taking the easy way out will get you no where but to disatisfaction and waste.

I accutally work with someone who did this. She did clinicals in PR for 3 months and took nclex in NY or NJ. She has her license and obviously has no problem getting a job because she's my coworker and my company would never hire anyone without a license. I didn't bother asking her for the details so I don't know the name of the school.

I was also told about this program from several RN's and they absolutely loved it and they are employed at hospitals as well as doing at home care as well so I was going to ask them what school it was myself because I am interested in going myself
@Car007
If you could ask your coworker as well maybe we can find out about it and share the name of the school

Since when, School clinicals, regardless of the school give Nurse competency to work. It is a requirement to graduate! But a nurse becomes proficient in clinical tasks after orientation when hired!
