RN internship Programs for foreign BSN RN

hi. i am a BSN RN from Philippines and i randomly found an interesting topic while surfing the net. It's about nurse internship Programs. Can anyone enlighten me about these programs and if they are available for foreign RN's like me. i graduated two years ago but still jobless due to oversupply of nurses in the Philippines. I've found some sites pertaining to these programs but im not really sure if they cater to foreign grads like me. :) any info would be of great help. thanks guys!

and by the way, these internships that im referring to are offered in the U.s. ;)

As far as I know, most are working positions and they require licensure and a Visa that permits one to work in the US. And to my understanding, coming from the Philippines, you would be affected by retrogression.

There is also a lot of competition for any US positions as there are many unemployed nurses in the US, especially new grads.

As these internships vary greatly from place to place, your best bet is to contact the facility itself, and inquire from them.

thanks caroladybelle. im about to take licensure this august and i would love to be exposed on a u.s. hospital setting. i dont mind if i dont get paid as long as i can gain the experience. :) finding work here in ph is like looking for a needle in a hay stack.

Because you need a visa to allow you to do the internship I think you will find it hard.

@ silverdragon: yes im willing to undergo the process of obtaining a visa for the program. im currently sending inquiries to different hospitals in the u.s. which caters internship programs and i found a few who are open for foreign graduates like me. i've read in some internet pages that i'll be appling for a j1 visa for an internship. as for now., im hoping to pass my nclex exam this august so i can concentrate more on what im going to do next. methodist hospital in texas had already replied with my inquiry and im looking forward for a positive result.
