RN generic full Time fall 2014- Miami dade college

Published

I'm applying for the Generic Full Time RN program for fall 2014 (August). I took my NLN Pax exam already and got an overall score of 143. Curious if this will be goof enough to get in? Can't find any stats since the previous test was the TEAS... Looking forward to hearing back from anyone else that has taken the test already. Thx.

Do you have any idea how to calculated the overall I mean the 60% of the test and the 40% from gpa together

NO i think its something that the advising department handle themselves. im not too sure. i belive ive seen post about it though when it was the teas exam.. if i encounter the post ill paste it here.

I think you multiply the gpa times 10 and them the percent feom the test time 0.6 and them you add them up

To calculate your score you #1.) multiply your GPA x 10 (3.52 x 10 = 35.2) and #2.)then you multiply your TEAS score by .6 (because it counts for 60% of your admission score) so (88 x .6 = 55.8). #3.)Then you add these two together. (35.2 + 55.8 = 88)

GOT THAT FROM A DIFFERENT THREAD

Nice.... so if my gpa is 3.68 it will be 36.8

i will need to get like 75 % on the test that multiply by 0.6 is 45 and 45 +36.8= 81.8% overall if we are right lol. But i haven't done the test yet so i hope i get Higher than 75% lol

BTW 75% is only 115 according to a table that someone post here so for those who score 130 and up if we are doing this right you got a great overall %

I don't think its right though.. the teas out of 100 and our exam is out of 160!!! so the calculations could be different now ...idk -_-

AND YES BASED ON THE PERCENTILE ON 130 IS GOOD.. SO I HOPE TO SCORE ABOVE THAT. IF I CAN SCORE 150 ILL BE SUPER PLEASED.

the MAIN THING I HAVE HEARD THOUGH IS TO MAKE SURE YOU GET 50 % ON EACH SUBJECT..BECAUSE IF YOU HAVE A 150 SCORE AND 49% ON MATH OR SCIENCE OR VERBAL... YOU FAIL

I know :( that's why you have to calculate with the average % not with the score on the table but who knows if is right... mdc always change things so you never know

Yeah that's another thing to keep in mind also.. .is not only to do good on the test but to get more than 50% in all 3 , is never easy with this people lol

THATS the part that scares me most ugh
