RN generic full Time fall 2014- Miami dade college

Published

I'm applying for the Generic Full Time RN program for fall 2014 (August). I took my NLN Pax exam already and got an overall score of 143. Curious if this will be goof enough to get in? Can't find any stats since the previous test was the TEAS... Looking forward to hearing back from anyone else that has taken the test already. Thx.

Lisel, I'm trying to register for Background check and I can't get past the page that is asking for a signature. WTH is that lol.

Use your computer mouse to sign in the pop-up window. I did it on my cell phone touchscreen so that can also work.

what really concerns me is the $225 for the medical record ..

Yeah that concerns me too, but I had already saved a lot of money for all of these things so I'm just going to pay it. What really concerns me is financial aid. They need to get on the ball now because I need to make sure that I am going to have an award letter to pay for this program before I start paying for all the requirements and deposit.

Hey! Congrats to all of those who got their acceptance emails already.:up: I graduated from MDC FT Generic Program last May so I've been exactly where you guys are now. To those who haven't received their emails yet, don't give up!!! I too got my acceptance email for the BSN program today and I'm extremely thrilled!!! GOOD LUCK TO EVERYBODY!!! If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask me!

Which books were truly necessary? Particularly the first semester if you remember. I don't wanna buy books we wont really use or isn't necessary to get through classes.

Hey all I know I'm late but I also got my acceptance letter for the transitional program I'm still in shock I literally called mdc 5 mins before getting my email asking when responses would be sent out!!!! My email also said I had to go and pick which option in order to save my seat in that specific option. Since I was able to apply after not passing NLN they made me sign a paper stating since I didn't meet the required score I would do the boot camp class if accepted to the program. So you ladies that did great on NLN i doubt u have to do the boot camp class.

1st semester: Def used fundamentals and pharm book. I really didn't have to use the assessment book bc my prof used her own lecture notes. We really used the Davis drug guide. Rarely tabers. If anything, I'd have to see the book list bc they may have changed some things

Oh in regards to the Physicals a coworker told me Doctors 365 in Broward does Physicals for a reasonable price they have prices listed on their website. Also Pasteur Medical in Miami does them for a reasonable price too not sure if that helps just sharing the info :)

Congratulations on getting accepted!

There is/was confusion about 'The Boot Camp' caused by MDC using that title to refer to two entirely separate classes (for lack of a more appropriate term).

1. There was a "Verbal Boot Camp" for those who didn't receive a high enough score on the Verbal portion of the NLN.

2. There is a mandatory "Pre-Nursing SOS Boot Camp" for those entering the fall sessions of the Nursing program. It consists of three sessions for each of the three available schedule options in which it is being offered.

Hopefully that helps clear up the confusion. Perhaps the College and it's students would have benefited from the two unrelated classes having less similar names.

when is the verbal boot camp?

For the pre nursing SOS bootcamp, does everyone have to attend it? Or is it limited to only those who didn't pass the nln?
