Hello everyone,

I am trying to get some input on people who are attending school while working and have children? How doable is it? And how do you balance your work/study/personal time? I am thinking whether I should pursue it now or wait it out. I would like to go to school and get my BSN so any experiences would be greatly appreciated.

Happy holidays!

How old? What are your work commitments? Do you have a support system that will watch your kids while you're at school and studying?

I'm doing it now (almost done actually!). It's hard. You definitely need support at home. And a flexible job, because you are at the mercy of the school regarding your schedule. You currently have an ADN? Should be easier then...

My kids were 13, 11, & 8 when I was working on my RN-BSN through , so they were quite independent and not as needy as younger kids would be. I spent most of my free time on school work, and would take my laptop with me to my kids extracurriculars and study or work on homework while I was there. It really wasn't so bad. I probably spend 15-20 hrs per week on school, while working 36 hours per week.
