New Grad - Short Stay Unit?
Hello, I am a new grad RN recently passed my boards and I recently got hired for a Private Duty agency and to be honest I am super nervous because even though they will provide a day or two of orientation and shadowing I still feel like I am going to make a mistake which I know it happens to most nurses but I don't want to put anyone in danger and I want to protect my nursing license as well because it was a hard journey for me to receive it. I guess I am more nervous than anything. I have been researching about vents, trach care etc before orientation so I refresh my memory from clinicals. I am super nervous and would like some words of advice/tips on how to be on top of my game and protect the patients and of course my nursing license. If you are a new nurse or have been through something similar share your story or any tips that could be helpful in my situation. I appreciate any advice given and thank you in advanced. Happy holidays everyone!

RN-BSN while working & children?
Hello everyone, I am trying to get some input on people who are attending school while working and have children? How doable is it? And how do you balance your work/study/personal time? I am thinking whether I should pursue it now or wait it out. I would like to go to school and get my BSN so any experiences would be greatly appreciated. Happy holidays!

Is there any hope for me at this point?
Plllllease! Do not give up! you can do this. I am a hispanic student with limited english knowledge and with two babies and managed to learn the language and content and pass. The third time around! Dont get discourage nor let anyone discourage you! You can combine Hurst and Uworld or NRSNG and Uworld. I got so much out of Uworld! You got this! keep pushing! Sending good vibes your way :)

One more week until Nclex, What should I study?
Thank you!! of course, I used the heyROna notes that she attached on her youtube channel. She's a fellow nurse you can look her up on youtube and she attached her notes there. I also reviewed all the notes I had without cramming just reading what I thought re-enforcement. I got a bad stomach flu that week so I was limited to study that much so I just focused on labs, procedures, and basic info that I knew I needed for the test. The day before I didn't study just looked at the labs once and that's pretty much it. Hope this helps :)

Passed NCLEX Mom of 2 and Hispanic Student
Hello guys, (Apologize in advance for any grammatic errors. My primary language is Spanish) So I just found out that I passed NCLEX-RN and I am so happy. This was my third time trying and to be honest I think that most of it had to do with the fact that I was very behind on my English and deficiency in content. I graduated in Puerto Rico (which all courses are provided in Spanish) and when I came to the US I was so lost, of course, I understood English mostly and write here and there but there was so much I needed to learn. Anyways back to the content, my preparation in PR was more clinically rather than theory so I knew what to do at the clinical setting but extremely confused with NCLEX format type of questions. Anyway I used the following resources to strengthen my content and that was: NRSNG (I liked the videos and Cheat Sheets a lot) Also tried their simclex . Saunders Book to make sure what I found on the internet was accurate info. LaCharity Delegation and Prioritization (Good book. I finished the whole book) Uworld (Their rationales were extremely helpful since I am a visual learner) and Kaplan Qbank which helped me practice different format of questions. That is basically what I used. I did 75 questions a day most of the time but due to the fact that I had my babies (a newborn at the time and a 5-year-old girl) to take care of some days, I had to do 30 or so. But I made sure I reviewed the rationales carefully and watch videos if I thought I was too weak on the subject. Basically spent 4-5 hrs studying with breaks, when my baby napped I hit the books and studied at night as well. It was exhausting Y'all but I did it! and you can too! I am still learning, its a work in progress but I am glad the wait is over and I can finally add RN to my last name. Best wishes to everyone and pass that NCLEX :)

One more week until Nclex, What should I study?
Hello everyone, I need some help and clarity. Since I feel like cramming because of my anxiety building up. What should I focus on this last week of studying? I have finished Uworld Qbank and have been constantly answering questions but I am so scared to get blindsided on the test with a topic or things I might not remember or know. I have been thinking on what should I do this last week since I know that time is running out and again,, cramming is not the way to go. Sorry for the rambling I'm nervous and need some advice. Thank You in advanced!
