I'll tell ya... I took chem because it was a prereq for ONE of the programs I wanted to apply to.
I hated the class. At the end of the semester, I was very happy with myself that I have never made a decision to be a chemist. But I still took it seriously and actually did quite well in the class.
And as much as I disliked that class, I am 100% happy I took it and if I had to make the decision again, I absolutely would take chem - the concepts you cover in a basic chem class make stuff you thought you understood in A&P and micro crystal clear.
I am so glad I took chemistry - and I know it will be immeasurably valuable as I get into pharmacology and pathophysiology.
Take it. It might suck for a semester, but you will be SO glad you took it.

I have AP credit for chem, but I think it is probably too old to count, so I'd have to take something again that I already pretty well know. The other classes I don't feel will really help me if I already have an ASN.
I took nutrition and sociology in the ADN program. Took high school chemistry. I'm currently enrolled in the online RN-BSN program at The University of Alabama and had to take intro to Biology for non-biology majors OR chemistry. I took the intro to Bio at the local community college. Check out UA's program. Also here that Univ. of West FL has a nice program (cheap too). Don't know about the pre-reqs though. Good Luck and Roll Tide.

Hey y'all. I'm looking for an online RN to BSN program on the cheap side that only requires the following prereqisites... A&P1 and 2 and labs, Micro & lab, Psych, English 1 and 2, Stats...
In short, not nutrition, chemistry, or sociology.
I would greatly appreciate any help!!
