In preparation for getting a BSN, I am trying to gather information regarding online BSN programs. if you have links to what you feel is an affordable, online, no residency requirement program, please post 'em here.
One program that I came across was at Thomas Edison State College. does anyone have any information regarding their program? I was hoping to find someone that has first hand (or second hand ? ) experience with the TESC RN to BSN program as it seems to be an affordable option, which, of course, is always a bonus. from reading the catalog on their site it appears that you can use some of the EC exams to satisfy the upper-level nursing courses.
The TESC program looks pretty decent but I am looking for some feedback to any online rn to BSN program. if anyone has links to what they feel is an affordable online rn/bsn program please post the link here.
Online Nursing Degree Programs at Thomas Edison State University

i took this from the faq on the texas tech nursing website
"total cost of the rn to bsn program, tuition and all fees for two semesters is $7,216.00. visit www.fiscal.ttuhsc.edu/busserv/bursar or call 806-743-1880 for detailed fee information, including out-of-state tuition."
@txspadequeenrn, texas tech is looking really good right now only problem is i cant find their tuition on their website.do you have any idea?
Can anyone give me some details about the UoP RN to BSN program. I am really considering this path and would just like some insight of how the program is. What type of course work, how the grading and tests are run, what is the practical portion... Anyone that has gone through this program that would like to share I appreciate it.
Thanks,

hey erchick-i didnt do u of p, although i looked into it a few years ago as an option. they have a lot of info on their website. basically the classes are very short, like 5-6 ish weeks, and each one (at that time anyway) required a group project and a powerpoint presentation. One lady I worked with who was about finished with it when I was looking at it also stated that it required a lot of community work-which can be great if you have the time. Presentations of different subjects to different types of groups. for me the price was also a major issue, even though they were giving loans so you didn't have to pay upfront. just make sure you look at many options and find the right fit for you!
good luck.
kaplan-straight off the bat i choked on the $353 per credit price! holy moly! guess ihave been spoiled by u of wyoming at 113 a credit. another thing is whether any program that you would want to go to requires NLN approved bsn program or if CCNE is enough. some programs differ... i also see that they require like 90 credits, and they do not explain their course transfer process, but make you fill out a form so someone can call you. does this mean that they make you retake stuff you already took? what does your friend have to say about the program. but for me, the money would be a major issue, but that's me!
good luck!
