RN-BSN July 2012..

Nursing Students Chamberlain College

Published

So I have started the ball rolling for this program. Should be starting July 9th if everything works out. Anyone else taking the online RN-BSN?

Thankfully, I did the initial posts Tues night, but totally forgot about the Transitions one. I've made progress and am about halfway done. I rather take tests than have to write this paper! Ugh!

I am so glad it only has to be 6-8 pages long. I am defitely shooting for 6, lol. Sometimes writing can be a pain. The bright side is with writing, we don't have so much studying to do.

Take care and Best wishes!!!

How's everyone in Cultural Diversity doing with their research paper? OMG...I'm sooo not motivated and have barely touched it. Am hoping to get a lot done today and tomorrow. NEED MOTIVATION, STAT!!

I had mine done by Monday to turn in. I had been slowly working on it since week 4. I knew it would be a doozy so I planned ahead to get it done.

Jerseygirl, I was going to ask you about this class... I start it next week and just looked through the syllubus and wow, that paper looks intimidating! The 4 different subjects to pick from are so detailed. I feel nauseous:barf01:

Hey, don't even worry about the paper. The way the course is designed makes it so easy. You have to turn in an outline with references, and then by the time you need to write the paper you have done all the hard work already with researching and organizing the format that you just need to put it together. You can do it, you'll be just fine. I promise.

As long as you don't wait until the last minute to do your paper and actually put it together a little at a time, it will go smoothly for you. If you wait until that last week...it won't. I'll be honest, though, the teacher I have is pretty tough with grading. Be very thorough in your discussion postings, and with essay questions on each quiz. The final consists of 19 questions at 5 pts each and 5 essay questions at 30 pts each. I'm taking it tonight and am petrified. The multiple choice is easy, the essays not so much...at least for me. I'm very apprehensive to see how good/bad I do on the final and the paper.

Thanks very much! I looked at the info for the final and also the paper requirements and then I thought maybe I will drop the class and try and take it at a community college. This instructor seems hard but really cant be sure until I get my first grade in. In Transitions, that instructor was easy and helpful. Can I ask who either of you had as instructors for Cultural Diversity? or Initials? I think I am going to do my paper on the prison subject.

GR for me.

ETK for me (she goes by her middle name, T, though). Do you have her? I must say, though, I took Cultural Anthropology through the community college here and that instructor was also pretty tough. I'm a good student and find most classes easy, but these two were the hardest so far. Don't know if it's a SOC teacher thing or not. Intro to Sociology was a breeze, so there goes that whole theory. Idk.

mine is WT, and he just seems strict. But you may be right, it may be the cultural diversity class itself. I am talking to an advisor today to see about taking History instead now. I want to take the post 1945 history class since its closest to our time. Or I will just stick it through and take this diversity class that I have no interest in....

Eventually, you'll need to take the SOCS class anyway. Both SOCS and History is required and they fulfill different requirements.

As far as Humanities and History classes, I've had 3 advisors recommend these 2 classes: HIST415N - Vietnam and the 20th Century Experience, and HUMN 303N Introduction to Humanities. They said that students have mentioned that they found these to be the easiest as far as coursework and such. Just a thought for you all.
