RN to BSN Hagerstown Community to Frostburg

Published

Hey!

So, I'm applying to two programs, one of which is the transfer from HCC to Frostburg dual enrollment track. I didn't even know this was an option until last week and the deadline is coming up. I'm trying to research Frostburg and how long it'll take after the 2 year program at HCC, along with tuition. I'm getting so little information about this program. I talked to someone briefly and was told it was only 6 months more for the BSN after attending HCC's 2 nursing program? I also read a review on here about the last part of Frostburg's BSN program being wonky and maybe not trustworthy. I usually do a lot of research before deciding on something, so with so little time, I was hoping someone here has been through these programs? Any insight?

The other program I am applying to is a "sure thing" if I get in, but the commute is going to be awful. I am trying to make the right call if I have a choice!

Anyone do the dual enrollment from HCC to Frostburg?

How long you have after you finish at Hagerstown is completely up to you. You decided how many classes you take during summer and winter and they allow you to take one during the spring and fall. I graduated from Howard Community College last month and I have just one semester left at Frostburg.

One semester left since leaving Howard? So, your looking at your BSN 6 months after your RN? I guess that's what the advisor was talking about. I guess if I take a full course load...

Frostburg offers the same program with many of the CC's in central MD. I'm halfway done my program at CCBC and am in the Frostburg program. I've taken one class through Frostburg a semester (plus winter), and two over the summer. I finish at CCBC next May, and should finish at Frostburg in December 2018. Frostburg has info sheets on their nursing page that give you a course plan for Frostburg and your CC. Tuition wise, the three credit class I took in the spring was $855.

Hey!! Thank you for the link! It's exactly what I needed and have been asking my school for. I didn't find it when I looked on FSU's site. Thanks, Hon!
