I have recently started my own nursing blog where I help nurses and their loved ones live a healthy life. I see so many in healthcare not living even close to a healthy life. It is at nursinglifebacktohealth dot com.

As to your question, yes, I use my real name. From the research I have done it is important to associate your real name with your blog because you should be attempting to build a brand. Also, it is hard for people to connect with you if they do not know your name or you do not have a photograph on your blog. I have gone through these struggles myself, because there are controversial issues I would like to write about in health. In those cases I do worry having my name associated with something those goes against the mainstream on an issue. Hope this helps and feel free to message me if you have any other questions.
